In response to the rising COVID-19 numbers in the community, Fostoria Primary Care will be transitioning to telehealth appointments until further notice. Fostoria Primary Care is located at 617 N County Line Street, Suite B, Fostoria, and provides family care to area residents. “The safety of our patients is our priority,” explained Kelly Shroll, president of Blanchard Valley Medical Practices. “Our experienced team is following all of the processes and guidelines established by our state and federal health partners. BVHS Experience December 30, 2020 at 10:45 AM · Blanchard Valley Health System recently initiated the distribution of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to frontline healthcare workers. Shown is Kimberly Geckle, APRN-CNP, an adult hospitalist, receiving her vaccine from Becky Cochran, employee health nurse. At this point, BVHS has only received 300 total doses for associates and distribution is based on a tiered approach developed by the Mayo Clinic. The first wave of vaccines is being given to associates who have roles that place them at the highest risk of COVID-19 exposure. Additional deliveries of the vaccine are expected in the immediate future. Community residents who are interested in getting a COVID-19 vaccine should work in conjunction with their primary care provider.

Bluffton Hospital will be offering a COVID-19 vaccination clinic this Saturday, March 27 from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Eligible individuals include those who are 40 years of age and older and those with specific underlying health conditions. To register, please call 419.369.2323. There are a limited number of vaccines available, and vaccines will be given on a first call, first-served basis. Please do not call the hospital directly.
