Empty Bowls 2020
Thanks to everyone who came out Saturday to support our Empty Bowls fundraiser and get some lovely art (on a beautiful September day downtown)! Over 300 people attended our 5.5-hour event (in 1/2 hour slots), and we thoroughly enjoyed finally get to see our guests.

Empty Bowls 2020
We still have slots available for Empty Bowls this Saturday the 26th! We hope all of our current ticketholders can join us; plus, we will have extra bowls for sale 1-3pm for anyone in the community.
Existing ticketholders - please reserve your slot for this "fun"draiser in downtown Longmont (Main St. between 4th & 5th Avenue) at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080a4aafaa2ba4fb6-empty. We still have times available from 9:30 to 1:00 (except for the 10-10:30 slot). Everyone must check in at our Aspen Center (5th & Kimbark) upon arrival. Face masks and social distancing required.

Reminder: To meet increasing needs, OUR Center is holding a food and winter clothing drive THIS WEEK, including Saturday. See attached flyer for items most needed (proteins, soups, vegetables, toiletries, gift cards); drop off 8-5 weekdays or 11-1 this Saturday, Oct. 24 at our facility at 220 Collyer St. (south side).
For clothing, we are ONLY accepting winter items at this time; please bring clean and in good condition.

Announcing the Wing Shack Turkey Drive - donate a frozen turkey to Wing Shack at 1133 Francis St. in Longmont now through noon on November 24 and receive a voucher for 10 free wings! The turkey will come to OUR Center for our food program, plus Wing Shack will donate an extra $5!
OUR Center is seeing unprecedented demand for services, up to 300% more than our normal volume, including for meals, grocery program, and homelessness prevention (rent and utilities). In keeping with our tradition, we would like to give turkeys to families for holiday food baskets.
We are grateful to the community for its tremendous support.
OUR Center will be closed today, Monday, October 26 due to winter weather conditions and cold temperatures, as our food services are being provided outside and we need to keep our volunteers and staff safe. We will reopen tomorrow, October 27, with normal operations.
Another reminder that we will have special donation hours tomorrow, Saturday, October 24, from 11am to 1pm to accept food and winter clothing items. Come to our south side food receiving door. Tax receipts for your donation are available. See flyer for details.

OUR Center partners with Crackpots to host new version of Empty Bowls fundraiser

The OUR Center's 18th Empty Bowls fundraiser will continue to bring people together to fight hunger.
St. Benedict Health & Healing Ministry will be at OUR Center tomorrow, Thursday, January 21 from 11:00 to 1:00 offering one of their free clinics via our parking lot at 220 Collyer St., Longmont. See flyer for all the services they offer!
CAFÉ OUTREACH PARTNERS NEEDED - We are looking for new groups to become part of a very important service – our Café Outreach weekend meal program.
OUR Center partners with churches, businesses, service organizations and family groups to provide lunches on the weekends, so we can provide a nutritious meal 365 days of the year and give community members a meaningful way to meet and serve our community.
This is what we ask: commit to serving lunch on a weekend or holiday for 130+ people, provide the food, prepare and serve the meal, and clean up.
We will provide an orientation, tour of our kitchen and training on use of equipment, assistance with menu planning, safety protocols, and communication throughout the year.
Because of COVID-19, several of our regular groups have had to step away from serving lunch on the weekend. We currently have 25 dates in 2021 that are not covered, which means we need to stretch our existing staff and volunteers even further.

Let’s fight hunger in our very own community! Crackpots is proud to be partnering with the OUR Center once again for the Empty Bowls fundraiser for the 18th year! Sure, this fundraiser is going to look a wee bit different due to Covid, but - now more than ever- people in our community need the OUR Center for a hand up.
Stay tuned for lots of updates, but - first things first - we need you to get creative and paint an Empty Bowl for donation! We’ve made it super easy to order your Empty Bowl AT HOME Kit... it has everything you need to paint your masterpiece at home with family... or have a Zoom painting party with church friends... or an office team building on location... find ways to connect creatively. Let us know how we can help get the bowls to you!
