We recently had a question from a gentleman about replacing his single spring on a 16 X 7 steel door with a 2-spring set-up. He was told by a competitor he would never sell his house with a single spring. To quote our owner, "this is a boldfaced lie". Springs are the muscle, if you will, of the door. They provide counterbalance to the weight of the door and come from the factor sized accordingly. If you have a single spring, it is going to be larger than the springs used in a dual set-up - regardless they will be sized accordingly.
