Oxford Valley Co-Operative Preschool was begun in August 1972, by a group of eight parents concerted about providing quality Christ-centered experiences for their preschoolers. Facilities were secured in Oxford Valley Chapel, equipment purchased, a teacher hired, and the doors opened in September to a class of ten eager three and four year olds. We have now expanded to a possible 150 children in ten classes. In 1984 a kindergarten was opened, which has been very successful. In 2005 we moved to our new location at Resurrection Lutheran Church. The concept of parental involvement in curriculum planning and participation as classroom aides was and continues to be, a major plus for our program. This enables parents to observe their child in various group situations while contributing their interests, skills and assistance to the total program.
