Welcome back to the beginning of normalcy. We are back in the office providing our patients with preventative care and dental treatment that had been postponed during the shelter in place. To do this, we have to implement a few new procedures in order to comply with the California Department of Public Health, the Center for Disease Control, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the local health department guidelines. We must ask all patients to arrive wearing a face covering to enter the office and interact in the common areas. We must ask that all patients practice social distancing while in the office, whenever possible. We must screen you with some questions and take your temperature at the front to make sure you are not running a fever. We will have a few procedures to follow depending on your visit and the treatment you are receiving. We know the inconvenience is there, but we want to be able to provide our high level of dental care and these are the steps we need to follow at this time. We appreciate your time and we are dedicated to your health and safety as well as the health and safety of each of our team members. Each team member is screened upon arrival in the morning to make sure they do not have a temperature and do not have any symptoms of the COVID-19 infection. Thank you for your trust and we look forward to seeing you soon. If you have any questions, please let us know by calling (925)426-1300 or email us at info@pacificdental.com. Yours In Better Dental Health, Jeff Bueno, DDS

A healthy mouth is the gateway to a healthy person.Questions about dental treatment during this extended shelter in place order? May 1, 2020 We are happy to announce to all our patients that we will be returning to the office soon. Patients with emergency care and essential care will be seen in the coming weeks. Patients with routine cleanings and check-ups will be phased in towards the end of May and beginning of June. The lack of an exact date is in line with the mandates from the state and local health officials, all of which have not given us definitive dates. While excited we are going to be opening soon, we want to inform all our patients that we will maintaining strict protocols for COVID-19 in accordance with the most recent government mandates. The areas that you, our patients, will be affected by these are as follows: If you, or any members of your household have any symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you reschedule your appointment and consult your medical professional for guidance. Only the patient will be allowed in the office. (If the patient is a child, only 1 adult will be allowed in the office and must remain in the reception area and maintain social distancing protocol while waiting.) Temperature will be taken upon arrival. If you have a fever, we will ask that you reschedule your appointment. All adult patients will be given a disinfecting mouth rinse prior to beginning any procedures. You will notice our staff up front wearing cloth face coverings in additon to the clinical staff wearing additional personal protective equipment including face shields. You will hear the hum of a HEPA filtration system cleansing the air in the clinical areas. All dental procedures that create an aerosol (cleanings, fillings, crowns, surgical procedures, etc) will be accompanied by a special suction device to virtually eliminate aerosols. We love our patients and we want to balance these new guidelines while we provide the much needed dental care to our family of patients. As mandates change, so will we. Our goal is to provide our family of patients the care they require with safe and caring environment. Thank you from the Team at Pacific Dental Care
If you are wondering why your dentist is refusing to see you, and causing you to neglect much needed care, here is the mandate from the American Dental Association on their definition of emergency care: Dental emergencies, according to the ADA, “are potentially life threatening and require immediate treatment to stop ongoing tissue bleeding [or to] alleviate severe pain or infection.” Conditions include uncontrolled bleeding; cellulitis or a diffuse soft tissue bacterial infection with intraoral or extraoral swelling that potentially compromises the patient’s airway; or trauma involving facial bones that potentially compromises the patient’s airway. So instead of seeing your dentist, wait until your life is in danger, and then the dentist may or may not see you depending on their willingness to open their office during the pandemic. This is horrible policy and we disagree. We practice universal precautions and can't wait to provide needed care to our family of patients. Pacific Dental Care in Pleasanton. (925)426-1300. We plan to begin seeing essential care on May 4th (fillings, crowns, treatment postponed from March and April) and then adding hygiene back into the mix later on May 26th. We will be adding social distancing protocols where practical, screening patients with thermometers upon entry, surveying potentially infected patients with a simple questionnaire, sanitizing common areas outside of the treatment area, and asking patients that feel under the weather to reschedule until they are better. Give us a call. We're happy to be here for you.
Good morning. Don't forget to floss and brush. Later, give us a call to set up that appointment you've been putting off. Remember, if you don't use your 2020 benefits, you lose them. (925)426-1300.
Check out the new wrap on our Scion, portable billboard. If you see us on the road, honk, wave, or follow us back to Pacific Dental Care for your next visit (or your first visit). We look forward to seeing you.

The winner of the 2020 Cookie Decorating challenge at Pacific Dental Care is.... Alex Padilla. Thank you to all that participated. Very creative, and delicious entries. Next year, I think we'll try a paella contest, hahaha.
2020 has been interesting to say the least. During the year we have met and or exceeded protocols to keep our patients healthy and safe. We have been pleased with the trust our patients have in our efforts and we are happy to report most all of our patients have been receiving their necessary dental care during the year (with the exception of parts of March, all of April, and some of May). As a team, it has been stressful, but we have persevered and we are stronger for it. We have kept up our efforts to remain unified and we look forward to the future. We have missed several team bonding events, but we will be free to resume soon, we're sure. Most recently, we missed having a holiday party/get together. We did have a cookie decorating competition though. The pictures attached are being voted on by the team members themselves. The winner will get a prize and the bragging rights of "Winner" until the next team event. Look through and let us know what you think. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year to you!
We are looking for a talented person to join our team. Interested? Know someone that might be interested? We look forward to meeting our next great team member.
