More than 20 disease conditions have been linked with pets being overweight: Kidney disease, diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disorders, orthopedic disease, osteoarthritis, and cancer are all associated with obesity.

Bringing down your cool weather clothes from the attic? Beware of mothballs. The ingestion of just one mothball can cause significant problems.
Naphthalene - an offending chemical found in some brands of mothballs - is toxic to dogs, cats and other animals. If ingested, can cause serious illness, including vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, swelling of the brain tissue, seizures, damage to the liver, kidneys and blood cells, coma and even death.
It's not surprising that there are several special days to appreciate cats. There is an International Cat Day, National Cat Day, National Hug Your Cat Day, Respect Your Cat Day, and more! 😻 Today happens to be National Cat Day!

This sweet girl need a home to call her own. She is about a year old, very laid back, and mild mannered. She is the perfect lap warmer / snuggle bug. She isn’t spayed yet but will be spayed and vaccinated prior to leaving our care.
When meeting other cats and dogs, she hisses at first but then doesn’t seem to care about them.

It is with a heavy heart that we tell you about the passing of a PVC family member, Mark Barber. Mark was a veterinary assistant at Packerland for 21 years. He was smart, caring, compassionate, funny, helpful, our handy man, cat whisperer, and a dear friend. To say we lost a great man is an understatement. We will all deeply miss him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time. Rest in Peace Mark. 🙏❤️
