Maintaining a credible standard is a tough business. As a third party Certification and Education non-profit, sometimes it is hard not to be in it for the money. With the increase of awareness and or information/misinformation since (COVID-19), we have witnessed a plethora of people trying to capitalize on the opportunity to provide a so called certification. Pay here to be COVID certified for disinfection, take your test right after the course and earn your certification. Not that all of the information is bad and there is always the argument that some knowledge is better than none. Some years ago the American Bio Recovery Association went to a prerequisite system so that candidates for certification had to earn their way to being eligible for our CBRT (Certified Bio Recovery Technician) exam. The requirements are difficult but not impossible. They include 16hrs of Training from any Crime and Trauma cleanup course (Buyer Beware), OSHA 40-Hr HAZWOPER or International Equivalent, OSHA Blood Borne Pathogens, and an OSHA 10-General Construction Certificate of training. We want our technicians to have the highest level of competence, retention of knowledge and ethics in the Biohazard Response industry. Do you know who is providing service to you?
