Please listen to this message if your child, or another child you know, is at risk for discipline issues in school. There is zero tolerance in schools for discipline issues and if you are not prepared for a discipline meeting, also called a manifestation meeting, the chances are high the student will be expelled or moved to an "alternative" school. If you think it's "just another IEP meeting" you are probably very mistaken.

It's the same cycle every year: School starts. Parent is optimistic. Child is optimistic. New clothes, new backpack, renewed hope for a successful year. Then the problems start. You know the truth, but you wait to see if it will get better. You desperately want it to get better, for him/her to do better. But it never gets better, only worse, but you wait, ever hoping something will change. Before you know it, the end of the school year is near and you're scrambling to get help.
