Wednesday Encouragement
My Sister’s House provides shelter and support to victims of domestic abuse and their children. It is more than just a shelter-they have family support programs for children, clinical support and counseling services. All services are free of charge so they rely on contributions to operate.
Support My Sister’s House by shopping online at the Virtual Tea Room Gift Shop and Silent Auction. The shop will go live October 11-16. We will also take donations to the Tea Room through the online shop. All proceeds are given to local charities.
For 45 years, HELP of Summerville has been helping local, at-risk people resolve acute crisis situations such as eviction, utility turn-off, and medical needs. Assistance is based entirely on the need of the family. HELP is 100% funded through donations by churches and individuals, as well as sales at the Second Chance Shop.
Shop at the Virtual Tea Room Gift Shop and Silent Auction October 11 – 16 to support HELP of Summerville. You can also make a donation on the store site. Look for the store to go live October 11 through the Bethany website.
Tuesday’s Encouragement
Meals on Wheels delivers meals to those who are homebound and have difficulty cooking for themselves. Anyone who meets the criteria is eligible – it is not based on income or age! But it is not just meals that make an impact. Volunteers provide friendly visits and safety checks, enabling seniors to live nourished lives with independence and dignity.
You can support Meals on Wheels by shopping at our Virtual Tea Room Gift Shop and Silent Auction October 11 – 16. Look for more information coming soon.

Sunday, Oct. 11 3:00 – 5:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Oct. 12,13,15,16 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Wednesday, Oct. 14 1:00 – 7:00 pm
Come to the Fellowship Hall side of the church and look for signs pointing you to the pick-up area. We will meet you at your car and bring your order out to you.
To Bid on Silent Auction Items
Go to www.bethany-umc.com Click on the button “Silent Auction”. This will open our event. Click on “View Items”. This opens all the items we have up for auction.
Click on any item to open it. The listing will include information about the item, retail value and minimum bid. Click “Bid” if you would like to try for the item. This will prompt you to register for the event. After that, you can bid on any items. You will be notified if you are outbid or if you are the highest bidder at the end of the event. Payment will be with credit card through the event site. We will contact you about picking up your item.

Update for the Congregation.....Narcie continues in isolation at home while showing no symptoms despite her positive test. Thankfully, the other family and staff members that were in close contact with her have been tested and are negative for the COVID-19 virus. Please continue to support Narcie with your prayers. Join us Sunday for worship at the regular times. Mitch will be preaching in the Spell service at 8:00 AM and Word & Table at 8:45. Mark will be preaching at the Traditional Service at 8:45 and 10:30. The 8:45 Word & Table Service and the 10:30 Traditional Service will also be available online.

Many hands make light work!! Thanks to the Bethany UMC congregation for picking up from grocery stores, loading the bags, unloading the turkeys, and giving out the bags. We made 350 bags to give to DD2 schools, Home of Hope, Hope’s House, Hearts of Summerville, and many grateful individuals. We want to especially thank Donna Waite for coordinating our Thanksgiving bags! Thanks to ALL who donated!! #blessedtobeablessing
Luke 2:6-7 While they were there, the time came for Mary to have her baby. She gave birth to her firstborn child, a son, wrapped him snugly, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
The Holy Family is the reason for the Living Christmas Story. We need several more spots filled for this role. The shifts are only 30 minutes each, you can sign up for one or more shift. After each shift, the linens in the manger will be changed and the family will have a separate dressing area to stay in. Anyone can play this role – we have a baby doll if needed. Please consider signing up for this or another role. It is getting close and we need to fill out the cast!!
