Asking for Help
A happy gathering at Paragon this week, as we welcomed Jackie Martin and her new baby in for a "Goodbye Jackie, Hello Baby" party..... But, with 2020 being a year of unexpected twists and turns, it was fitting that it turned into a "Goodbye Jackie... Hello Baby.... Hello Jackie" party! Surprise to all of us --- Jackie will be continuing with Paragon for an additional period of time, in a more limited, part-time and telehealth-only role. We couldn't be more delighted!!
More details will follow. Call the office if you need a follow up appointment!
Special Covid-style visit with my two favorite former PBH nurse practitioner colleagues, and, of course, my forever friends -- including a special guest ♥
Celebrating all those who love and hold their children, always. Happy Father's Day ♥ ~~ RS

What a bittersweet time for all of us at Paragon as we say goodbye to our dear friend and colleague Jackie Martin. Jackie started with us 7-1/2 years ago, newly graduated and ready to go! We've seen Jackie transform into an outstanding clinician who has developed amazing relationships with so many of her patients, who we know will miss her terribly. We've been together through her marriage, a soon-to-be-born baby, and, (sadly) a plan to move out of state and away from us. We know you all will join us in wishing Jackie all the happiness that life has to offer♥ We'll keep you updated on the news!
PS: We're not big picture takers here, but here's a smattering of photos from over the years.
In a year unlike all others, I hope you all will remember to celebrate the things you're grateful for. Wishing everyone a safe, healthy and peaceful Thanksgiving ♥ ~~RS

"Years ago, anthropologist Margaret Mead was asked by a student what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture. The student expected Mead to talk about fishhooks or clay pots or grinding stones.
But no. Mead said that the first sign of civilization in an ancient culture was a femur (thighbone) that had been broken and then healed. Mead explained that in the animal kingdom, if you break your leg, you die. You cannot run from danger, get to the river for a drink or hunt for food. You are meat for prowling beasts. No animal survives a broken leg long enough for the bone to heal.
A broken femur that has healed is evidence that someone has taken time to stay with the one who fell, has bound up the wound, has carried the person to safety and has tended the person through recovery. Helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization starts, Mead said."
We are at our best when we serve others. Be civilized.
