David Folk, MD, is a fellowship-trained Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality medical care. He’s accepting new patients at Park Avenue Facial Plastic Surgery in the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City.
Dr. Folk completed his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from New York University in New York City, graduating magna cum laude. He went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. During medical school, Dr. Folk was the recipient of multiple honors, including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Gold Humanism Honor Society.
After graduation, Dr. Folk completed a highly prestigious Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery internship and residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. During his training he focused exclusively on the mastery of surgical procedures in the head and neck region—including cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery. To further his expertise, he then finished a competitive fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University.
He is currently board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery, one of the oldest and most established medical boards. As a fellowship-trained Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Dr. Folk is an expert in rhinoplasty, facelift, blepharoplasty, brow lift, otoplasty, gender confirmation surgery and other facial procedures. Dr. Folk has extensive experience in facial reconstruction after skin cancer removal (Mohs reconstruction), cleft lip and cleft palate surgery, and facial trauma repair.
He also has advanced training with nonsurgical modalities, such as Botox® and facial fillers, if patients want an alternative to surgery.
Every year, Dr. Folk travels to underserved countries in Central America for medical mission trips. He donates his time to perform essential surgical procedures to patients in those communities. Patients of Dr. Folk often commend his warmth, compassion, and individualized care.
