The Mill Event Center August 26 at 2:52 PM · DREAM WEDDING GIVEAWAY! We are less than a week away and are so thrilled to be working with Lauren and Brandon. If you remember back to last year we held a contest for a Dream Wedding Giveaway. When we came up with this idea we definitely did not plan it to be during a pandemic. However; Dream Wedding winners Lauren Hohnberger and Brandon Minner have been an absolute blessing and will be getting married in less than a week! A look back to their love story… Brandon and I met in our early years of college. We had been involved in the same organization where I knew him by name for months, but finally met in the Spring of my Freshman year. Quickly, Brandon and I became good friends, bonding over our sarcastic humor, competitiveness, and similar hobbies/interests. Even from the start, there had always been a desire in the back of both of our minds for something more than just friendship. Too afraid of awkwardness or the loss of the connection, we both ensured those thoughts stayed thoughts. Our actions, even, acted as safeguards for a secure friendship -- Brandon and I for almost 2 years would subtly tell the other of our deep status as friends. For almost 2 years, we both were completely ignorant of our mutual feelings. Eventually, the friends in our lives started to take note of these small quirks in Brandon and I’s relationship -- and honestly, thank God for these friends, because we would probably still be naive to each other’s feelings. Our friends started to hint and probe for information on the subject. Ultimately, it was Brandon who finally caught on and asked me to (what I had originally thought was nonchalant) dinner. A few weeks before dinner, I had told Brandon at a mutual friend’s wedding that he looked really good in the pants he was wearing. So good, in fact, that the next date he went on he should wear them. To dinner, I show up wearing blue jeans, a ball cap, and a sweatshirt. Brandon, on the other hand, wore a button down, dress shoes, and those same wedding pants. Of course, I ask why he looked so snazzy to which he explains that this was his first date since I gave him the tidbit about his pants. A date. We were on a date. The rest of the night was spent talking through and laughing all of the ways we should have realized we liked each other sooner. Since then, our feelings have developed to such a strong love and adoration for each other. We would love to win this wedding. Between our friendship and romantic relationship, Brandon and I have been through so much together. Through life hardships and changing seasons, our love and commitment for each other has become even more profound. Halfway through our relationship, Brandon left for an 8 month mission trip. The experience definitely came with its challenges -- not seeing each other for those whole 8 months, poor access to communication, and a sacrifice in starting a career. With the commitment of this service trip, Brandon was out of a job for 12 months (between prep, trip itself, and gap time to apply). We are really looking forward to celebrating our love and marriage together with friends and family sooner rather than later. The Mithoff July 13 at 8:23 PM · We would like to give a huge Thank You shout out to the Lancaster Police Department. Taylor Rental had its fence cut and a plate compactor stolen in mid June. We had posted some still-shots from our security cameras but did not have any luck identifying the individual in the video stealing the compactor. We filed a police report with LPD and turned over the video and they were able to identify the individual. Below is a snap shot from Mobile Patrol of the perpetrator. Not only did LPD identify the suspect, they also tracked down the people who bought the compactor for a fraction of what it was worth, which should have been a sign that it was stolen. Nonetheless, the compactor was returned to us this morning by LPD. Can't say Thank You enough for the work the LPD put in to track down the suspect and return our property. Thank You, Thank You.
