Winter Weather Precautions for Customers
As you are probably aware, we will possibly experience freezing temperatures for our area this week/weekend. The City of Weatherford Water Utilities Dept. has compiled some helpful winter weather precautions.
* Let water drip slowly from inside faucets helping to prevent the
line from freezing.
* Leave cabinet doors under sinks open so that warm air can
circulate around the pipes.
* Turn off and drain the sprinkler/irrigation system.
* Cover/insulate outside faucets and any exposed piping.
* Disconnect and drain garden hoses.
* Use a fabric cover to protect outside vulnerable plants from frost.
* Provide warm shelter for your pet(s).

We have a winter road preparation update for everyone!
Transportation and Public Works (TPW), like TxDOT, operates with an on-call person that evaluates the situation and deploys additional resources depending on the needs. For winter weather they may operate with a portable sander on standby up to several crews mobilized. They are only responsible for city-owned public roadways.
TxDOT is responsible for I-20, service roads, on and off-ramps and state highways such as Main ST, Fort Worth HWY, Palo Pinto, and Santa Fe DR. Their priority is I-20. When requested TxDOT may or may not be responsive or timely based on their resources and target volume. #WeatherfordTx #StrongCommunity #WinterRoads
