For over a decade Patagonia has been refining the Nano Puff, not in the ways it looks or performs (it’s always done those well), but through ongoing improvements within their supply chain and product design to reduce the environmental impact of one of their most iconic jackets.

Today, despite support from voters across the political
spectrum, our public lands face unprecedented threats
from extractive industries and the politicians in their
pockets. Part love letter, part political exposé, Public Trust
investigates how we arrived at this precarious moment
through three heated conflicts — a national monument in
the Utah desert, a mine in the Boundary Waters and oil
drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge — and makes a
case for the continued protection of public lands.
Our stores will remain closed until further notice. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time. For more information, please visit: https://www.snow.com/info/message-to-our-guests.

When it came time to let go of unwanted clothes, comics journalist Sarah Mirk realized she had a problem. Not only was it emotionally difficult to say goodbye to old clothes, it was also a challenge to find ethical ways to get rid of them. Mirk drew this comic documenting her journey of trying to find the right home for her large pile of cast-off clothes.

Natasha Woodworth, the designer behind the new backcountry ski touring kits, took three years of prototypes around the world testing and validating them with those born and raised touring the Alps, where dawn patrols, hut-to-huts on the daily were the inspiration for the kits.

For Patagonia, the commitment to skiing and snowboarding has grown— "in the way that we move through the mountains, but also in how we fight for winter—we started asking: What tracks are we setting? What values are we leaving behind? Here’s where we started."
Marie-France Roy hasn’t always been a voice for the environment. But when she broke her neck in a 2010 snowboarding accident, she had a lot of time to think during the recovery, and it was that time that helped her become an activist. “I realized that we get so much out of the mountain experience for our own selves and it only makes sense to be willing to take some risk in order to protect it.”

The clothing industry contributes up to 10% of the pollution driving the climate crisis. And apparel workers are among the lowest paid in the world. You have the power to change the way clothes are made.
Since 1973, Patagonia has built clothes to endure, so you don’t need to buy new as often. There are some things you can do, too. Buy less. Buy used. Repair what you wear out. Demand recycled. Demand Fair Trade. Demand organic. You have the power to change the way clothes are made
How much can we gain from the mountains? How much can we lose? Between our own perceptions and the reality of the hazards, how much space exists? And in that gap, how do knowledge, skills and chance influence our fate?
Solving for Z, a Patagonia Films and Teton Gravity Research collaboration, explores Teton-based IFMGA guide, skier and father Zahan Billimoria's relationship with risk, and finding both purpose and tragedy in the mountains.
