Our beloved pets are not immune when it comes to cancer. Pets get cancer at about the same rate as humans, and like cancer in people, the cause of cancers in pets is not fully known. Older pets are more likely to develop cancer, and regular veterinary exams can help with early detection. November is Pet Cancer Awareness month and a great reminder that establishing regular wellness exams with us will help us pick up on any abnormalities should they arise.

Aren't the autumn months just the best when it comes to food? Halloween candy, rich and hearty crock pot meals, Thanksgiving turkey-- its enough to make anyone drool! There are, however, dangers lurking for our canine friends inside of these foods! Be sure to never give your dog candy, chocolate, alcohol, cooked poultry bones, onions, grapes/raisins, or anything with excessive amounts of dairy, fat, or salt.
If you want to treat your pooch to some amazing autumn treats, consider the following:
A slice of an orchard fresh apple
A few tablespoons of pure pumpkin puree
A bite or two of boneless, skinless turkey
