What’s better than celebrating with a dental cleaning and checkup! 😂🦷
Dr. Miller was able to give her son, Palmer, a dental cleaning (with birthday cake 🎂 toothpaste), exam (using our ‘lollipop’ 🍭mirror), and fluoride application (he preferred the bubble gum 🎀 flavor)... all while watching Paw Patrol on the TV overhead🐾🐕
Of course, he had to end the appointment with a toy car 🚘 and brand new Mickey Mouse 🐭 toothbrush! This may become his favorite new holiday! 🥳

Many parents ask: “when is a good time to get rid of the pacifier?” 👶🦷
There are many reasons a child has a “paci” 🤓- helping to soothe, comfort during sleeping, alleviating teething symptoms. Studies even suggest that pacifiers may help reduce the risk of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) the 1st year of life.🤗
However with prolonged use, the paci can cause malocclusions 🦷😳such as an open bite, narrowed upper arch and contribute to crossbites. To help avoid these issues, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends weaning from the pacifier by age 3.👏👦👧
In these photos you can see Dr. Miller’s son with an open bite on the top and 3 months later- closed after stopping the paci! 🙌✨
