Dr. Aguilar specializes in comprehensive surgical treatment of spinal diseases and injuries. He focuses on complex spinal pathology of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. His expertise includes complex spinal instrumentation, microdiscectomy, laminectomy and foraminotomy procedures for the treatment of disc herniation, spinal stenosis, myelopathy, compression fractures, spinal oncology, peripheral neuropathy and failed back syndrome.
He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed his surgical internship at the University of New Mexico and his neurosurgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Aguilar is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Aguilar has been involved in presentations to the public and to medical audiences. He holds professional memberships with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Aguilar is a physician and co-director of the PA Brain and Spine Institute. He is on staff at Canonsburg Hospital.
