We would not be here without the HOME Collaborative. We want to thank them for having us as a member of the Collaborative for a number of years; their help along the way championing home sharing and ADUs has been invaluable. We also want to thank them for all the hard work they have done bringing Home Match to Monterey: as a group and as individuals, they have worked tirelessly to prevent homelessness and displacement of older adults in Monterey County.
Almost everyone in the Collaborative has endorsed, signed up, or spoken at a Board of Supervisor meeting on our behalf. With their help, we were able to make Home Match Monterey not just a vision of the future, but a reality. We are looking forward to continuing our collaboration with HOME to make Home Match Monterey a success, and to do everything we can to prevent homelessness and displacement of older adults.
We agree with HOME Collaborative chair Allison Yant: home sharing "is an excellent opportunity for homeowners to remain in their own home while providing affordable housing for other so that they, too, can thrive within the community of their own choosing." We are thrilled to be part of the HOME Collaborative community, as well as the thriving community in Monterey County!
The HOME Collaborative consists of: Monterey Bay Economic Partnership, Monterey County Department of Social Services, Monterey County's Housing and Community Development Department, Assemblymember Mark Stone, United Way Monterey County, Monterey County Community Voice for Aging, Peggy's Home Care, and Alliance on Aging.
If the job of a Certified Nursing Assistant was easy, there wouldn't be a shortage of them...
But there is.
If the job of a CNA was just cleaning patients up, they wouldn't know their favorite foods, or when they prefer coffee over tea...
But they do.
If the job of a CNA was insignificant, Supervisor's and Charge nurses wouldn't rely on them to identify changes out of their "norma”...
But they do.
If the job of a CNA was to just get vitals, they would have time to sit down and talk with each resident for a good thirty minutes each shift...
But they don't.
If the job of a CNA was to just show up and dress them, perform their assigned duties, then go home, they wouldn't leave work in tears knowing one of our patients isn't going to make it...
But they do.
If the job of a CNA was appreciated by their all peers and colleagues, they wouldn't feel as UNVALIDATED...
But it's not.
If you're proud of all CNA's copy and paste this as your status! #cnasrock💙❤🧡💛💜 #ThankaCNA
