Just look at this happy face! It makes me sad to think we will not be seeing him every 6 weeks anymore. Oreo officially retired from Pender Veterinary Centre last month. Oreo came in for his evaluation in May of 2013. He gave his first donation in July of 2013. This sweet pup donated over 2 and a half gallons of blood saving 84 dogs while in the program. A huge thank you to Oreo and his family for helping us save so many doggos!!!

It was suspected this collapsed red-tailed hawk had been struck by a vehicle until we admitted her and took radiographs. Turns out she was shot and had a bullet pass through the bone in her left wing, and has another imbedded in her right. The rest of her injuries are either from falling from the sky, or being hit on the road. She's a fighter and we think she's going to survive. Thank you to Fairfax County Animal Shelter and Pender Veterinary Centre for their help with this rescue.
