We often talk about the keys to branding. Frequency and consistency are the good ol' tent poles for a solid branding campaign.
But, if you REALLY want to make your message successful, authenticity is the often-forgotten ingredient. Presenting your brand in a way that easily enables your customers to identify goes a long way in fan-building.
Here's a prime example from Dodge, celebrating a win in the JD Power surveys. They could have hired a brand name spokesperson (remember Lincoln's Matthew McConaughey series?) but Dodge does a great job just being Dodge by channeling Talladega Nights.
The spot was probably expensive and will only run for a short time but the impact on Dodge's core audience will be massive. And that's what branding is all about.
Remember, if you ain't first, you're last!
