A centrifuge for PRP is used for diagnostic and clinical purposes due to its importance in multiple applications. This process requires taking a sample of a patient’s blood and putting the blood through a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells and the plasma. Tube design and centrifugation are both factors in concentrating platelets in the resulting plasma, leading to platelet rich plasma. http://ow.ly/SfR550BAAbx
Performance Patient Spotlight! This is our Watchung graduate Ray! Ray came into Performance experiencing pain in his right bicep. Ray rated his pain an 8 out of 10 when he first came to us, explaining that the pain was "radiating from the arm into the neck and upper back." Thanks to our highly trained and licensed physical therapists, he was able to recover his right bicep muscle.
Reviews like these put the biggest smiles on our faces, we love when we are able to help our patients get better, faster.

I seriously can’t speak highly enough of this office and it’s staff. I’ve never been to a doctors office before where every single person was so kind and welcoming. The Patient Care staff in the front is extremely helpful, patient and kind and every Doctor is comforting and genuinely cares about their patients and their recovery. Their collaborative approach is truly one of a kind and benefits the patients care immensely. Any time I’ve experienced a flare up, I’d find myself eager for my next appointment because I knew I’d find relief in my visit. I’m truly grateful for this office and every person that works in it and will always recommend Performance Rehab to anyone in need of a good doctor!

Epidural Steroid Injection is an application of Cortisone, a powerful anti-inflammatory steroid into the area that surrounds the spinal cord and the nerves that extend from it, called the epidural space. The steroid that is injected reduces the inflammation or swelling of the nerves in the epidural space. This may reduce pain, tingling, numbness and other symptoms caused by nerve inflammation or swelling. To ensure accuracy and safety, our physicians perform the procedure under fluoroscopic (x-ray) guidance to confirm needle placement. Local anesthetic and corticosteroid anti-inflammatory medication are delivered into the epidural space to shrink the swelling around nerve roots, relieving pressure and pain. http://ow.ly/WuJS50BAzh9

Throughout the stages of osteoarthritis, the cartilage breaks down and wears away, making the bones under the cartilage rub together. When you experience bone on bone knee pain, generally the knees lack the synovial fluid needed to allow the joints to glide smoothly over each other, therefore a bone on bone knee pain injection is administered. Hyaluronic acid is similar to a naturally occurring substance in the joint. It works by acting as a lubricant and shock absorber that helps the joint to work properly. A Joint Gel Injection can alleviate pressure, decrease pain, and increase range of motion. http://ow.ly/AFUb50DH6SJ
Performance Patient Spotlight! Congrats to Oleg for graduating from care, pain free! Oleg came to Performance with severe back pain that spikes up to a level 8 in the mornings and at its worst.
