When Do Will Writers Lack Mental Capacity?
Insurance companies are trying to deny property damage claims because of "Late Notice" provisions being put into policies that contradict Ohio law. Attorney Kyle Hackett with our office was successful in getting an insurance company to rescind its denial letter to a client. If your insurance company has denied coverage to you because of a "Late Notice" issue, call us! Don't take "No Coverage" for an answer.

Social Distancing with Judge Cooper
I was outside today unloading suspension parts for the 1995 BMW project from my SUV when I saw two people with face masks wearing shirts that said "Vote for Judge Cooper." The lady handed me some voter information, and I said, "So, Ethna would like my vote, huh?" The person behind the mask said, "Yes, Ethna would!" Now, Judge Cooper does not have the most unique voice, but I suddenly realized the person talking to me from behind the mask was none other than Judge Ethna Marie Cooper. She is a fine Judge, and deserves our support. After several failed attempts at balancing my phone on a mailbox to do a "selfie" to post here, her husband and campaign worker showed up and took our picture while social distancing. It was good to see Judge Cooper talking to people in the neighborhood and having a laugh while trying to get our picture to post here. Remember to vote in November. https://www.facebook.com/JudgeEthnaCooper/
Montgomery Fire
Around 2:30 p.m. today, a fire started in the intersection of Montgomery Road and Ronald Reagan Highway, where there is construction for a highway roundabout. This is about 3 to 4 blocks south of our office building. The fire was followed by a very large explosion, and several smaller explosions. Flames were seen leaping at least 100 feet in the air. The fire appeared to be fueled by a single source, such as a natural gas line rupture. Firefighters were spraying it with water, but were making little headway at knocking the fire out, further indicating that it was being fueled by natural gas. Our hopes and prayers are that nobody was hurt.

More than meets the eyes: transforming a bewildering case into one that results in full and fair compensation
by Anthony Holman | Oct 19, 2020 | Firm News
Read how attorneys at Phillips Law Firm, Inc. helped a client put together her case when her injuries were neither obvious, nor easily capable of diagnosis by the medical profession. This challenging case proved the accuracy of what Sir Arthur Conan Doyle said through his writings in Sherlock Holmes, "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."

Trial of the Chicago 7
I watched The Trial of the Chicago 7 on Netflix today. It was outstanding! If you are a lawyer, you will love the movie. If you are not a lawyer, you will hate the legal system..
As a kid, I remember the murdr of Martin Luther King, Jr., the murder of Robert Kennedy, and the death of my schoolmate Bobbby Hodge’s older brother in the Vietnam War. If you visit the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C., find him on the wall under Macksburg, Ohio, and say a little prayer in memory of those who served and died in a very unpopular war.
If you watch the movie, say a little prayer that we never again return to a time so corrupt that we would prosecute people for engaging in a peaceful demonstration.

Bottling Day at the Phillips Winery
15+ years ago, my Doctor recommended that I drink a glass of wine a day. This launched my hobby of wine making. Wine making teaches patience. Today was bottling day for a batch of Morency Cherry wine that I started last year. Tart cherry wine must be aged at least a year before drinking, and this is just beyond the one year mark. The first time I made cherry wine I rushed the bottling, and the wine was barely drinkable after bottling. A year later, I opened a bottle and it was like a magical transformation. This time, I just waited over a year to bottle it, and it is delicious immediately, in my humble opinion. Tart, a little sweet, definitely strong cherry flavors with a nice crisp finish.
