The Phoenix Rising Veterans Drum Circle was founded on October 9th, 2013 in Gainesville, Georgia. The motivation for starting The Phoenix Rising Veterans Drum Circle for the Veterans in our community grew from frustration with, all too frequent, reports of our Veterans receiving inadequate care. The vision was that it would be a place where veterans could come together, relax and relate with fellow veterans.
Stephanie Bailey is a licensed therapist who has a passion when it comes to serving our veterans. We use drums to relax and for its therapeutic effects, which is a great way to reduce stress. A Drum Circle induces harmony, euphoria and rhythm from the chaos of today's life.
Did you know that drumming therapy taps into layers of the mind and body that other modalities cannot? Studies have shown that repetitive drumming changes brain wave activity, inducing a state of calm and focused awareness.
Drumming is a practice that spans the globe and has a presence in every culture. It has been used for centuries in rituals, ceremonies, communication, rites of passage, music and dance, celebration, healing, community building, and cultural events.
