Vintage tintype photo taken in 1996 during Eastfield Village Historic Photo Processing Workshop. Our instructor, Ken Nelson, made sure we wore something modern so we would not try to pass these off as 19th century originals. Notice the rubber gloves and Nikon t- shirt. It was interesting to see how the process reproduced tones. The shirt was powder blue and we all looked older and had a more weathered appearance, and, the images were backwards. Something to think about when viewing antique images!

That was Kodak Autographic film that allowed the user to take a metal stylus attached to the back of the camera, open a sliding window, and write information on the film itself. Wikipedia says that Kodak paid the patent holder $300,000 for the right to use this feature. The inventor also developed the safety razor.
