CASTING CALL
NYFW HMUA Samantha Velling and I are collaborating on an editorial beauty shoot on October 7th to be submitted to Ossma Magazine and are looking for models.
The concept is an inverted fashion show. Each model wears a plain black top, jeans and black heels but showcases a different and unique hair, makeup and nail look.
We're looking for 6 women 5'7" or taller and size 4 or smaller with medium to long hair and clear skin. This is not a paid job but would be a nice publishing credit.
For safety, each model will have 90 minutes individual time in the studio and the final images will be composited together.

Sometimes a model is memorable to me and that is definitely the case with Helena. I first saw her last year at the New Day Takeover Show. She is able to project ambition, confidence and focus without coming across angry or threatening. I was delighted to see her last weekend once again wearing a Malcolm Staples design.

I really like this headshot of Mialei from a couple weeks ago. I think she totally gives off the powerful, successful, no nonsense woman vibe. I’d definitely want her on my team!
When I met with Evie last month, one of the goals of that shoot was to reimagine and recreate with a live model some of Patrick Nagel’s classic artwork from the 1980s. It became apparent really quickly that this was gonna be a lot harder than I thought so we pivoted to other concepts. However, here’s one that seems pretty nice to me. The original Nagel print is included for comparison.

Spent a great afternoon yesterday shooting Jordan Murdy. When I first thought I might want to try photographing models, Jordan was first in line. It was almost 18 months ago to the day when she came to my cobbled together studio in my living room with a second hand octabox and a piece of white poster board on a music stand to create my “clam shell lighting”. She was amazingly patient with me as I took the only three pictures I could think of 40 or 50 time to make it seem more like a real photoshoot.
Rather proud of this set that just came out today in Malvie Magazine. The amazing duster is one of Malcolm Staples designs and Sasha M. Krumholz Lynn was just, well, stunning! Oh, and we were on the cover, too.

Another favorite from the black light body paint session with Mikayla painting Jessica and Amy. It took a few tries to get the positioning just right, but I think we got it.
Who’s ready for a new headshot? Here’s Amy sporting a sure to be popular style. Mikayla came up with the black light makeup look. Who’s next?
Sherry Cole came out and froze her butt off for a couple of pictures at Great River Park in East Hartford yesterday. It was such a beautiful, cold, clear day and she looked fabulous in that dress by the water.
Alexzandra was in last week for a boudoir album and Alexis was there for makeup and hair. She was recovering from a nasty breakup and just wanted to do this for herself. She doesn’t go on Facebook very often now, but maybe if you leave a comment telling her how amazing she looks, maybe we can tempt her out of her self imposed social media exile.
