Today is National #MetastaticBreastCancerAwareness Day. We advocate for screening mammograms to aid in early detection of breast cancer. However, approximately 7% of patients with breast cancer present with metastatic disease despite our best efforts. With the new treatments available in conjunction with oncology, we can increase patients’ longevity so that these metastatic breast cancer patients can have more time with their loved ones.
