Now that both Lower and Middle Campus have welcomed students back to in-person learning, our teachers have been hard at work making sure our remote cohorts feel like they're still here with all of us. Forming lasting, personal connections and a strong sense of community is an important part of Pinewood’s core values.
Last week during their SEL periods, our 3rd through 6th grade on-campus students Zoomed our remote learners into the classroom. Excitement filled the air as we virtually welcomed everyone back to campus. 🌲

Today we welcomed back to campus our K-6 on-campus cohorts. Here’s what Middle Campus looked like this morning as cars poured through the driveway for the first time in awhile.

It was all hands on deck as we spent this week preparing to welcome our students back to learning. 🍎📝📚The campuses buzzed with physically distanced faculty collaborations and back to school supply kits, which included P.E bags assembled by some of our high school students. We are so grateful for all of our hardworking teachers and administrators who have made this possible!
Our annual graduation ceremony looked a little bit different this year. On July 31st, the Class of 2020 gathered together one last time to celebrate this significant milestone. Although no parents, teachers, family, or friends were present, the enthusiasm from the now officially graduated Class of 2020, will make this event one to remember. Once again, congratulations Class of 2020! 🎓 @ Pinewood School
Last week, our Middle Campus teachers worked together to create an unforgettable, spooky, and physically distant Halloween extravaganza. 🎃Teachers implemented fun Halloween activities for all of our students to do during their classes and to end the day, our teachers decorated their cars for a Trunk-or-Treat in the driveway! We loved seeing our students enthusiasm as they arrived to campus all dressed up in their whimsical, eerie, and magnificent costumes. 👻 Happy belated Halloween!
Last week, our Alumni Office made care packages for all of our college freshmen, whether they are studying remotely from home or in-person on their college campus. This week, they shared their joy of goodies from "home" that we sent!

The last eight months have been a challenging time for us all, and the Visual Arts department has done their best to rise to the challenge and provide a curriculum that is both artistically rigorous and addresses the students' social and emotional needs. In this uncertain time, we are so proud of our young artists who have been able to channel and express their emotions into beautiful and powerful works of art. We hope you enjoy their work!
