Locksmith Ripoffs: Fake Listings, Fake Reviews
Please be aware of scams. ALWAYS check reviews and sources like the BBB. Next Door is another good source, as your neighbors recommend people they have used. If the initial super cheap price sounds too good to be true, be skeptical. These scammers make us all look bad, and they make me very angry.

Protect you home!!
Denver has had 346 burglaries reported so far this year, an average of 239.1 per month / 7.9 per day.
Over 65% of the time a burglar will get into your home through an unlocked door or window so keep all doors and windows locked.
Make sure you have a solid wood or metal door, high quality door frames, and deadbolt locks on your door.
Hitting the panic button on your car will set off an alarm that can scare away someone trying to break into your home, but always call 911 first!
When you are away from home make sure you give the impression that someone is there by putting lights on timers, having a neighbor pick up your newspapers and mail.
Secure window air conditioners to prevent them form being pulled out or pushed in.
If you live in an apartment only buzz people in if you are sure of their identity and don’t let strangers in.
Please be sure any locksmith you trust to do work on your home is reputable. They should be certified, registered and insured, no exceptions!
Get recommendations from your neighbors, check them on the BBB, verify them through ALOA
Be safe neighbors!
It is good to find a reputable locksmith before you are in need of one. The BBB, Angies list, and Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) are all good places to find one. Colorado is not regulated and many are run from out of state call centers. If you find one you like that has a good reputation verified by these entities, program their number into your phone. It can save you from a bad experience in the future.

Reasonable Locksmithing And ALOA Warn Of Scammer Locksmiths In All Of The U.S.A.
Todays project : remove original early 1900's Russwin mortise lock and replace with new Emtek mortise lock. Elapsed time 2.25 Hrs. The new lock works beautifully, but was far from a straight remove and replace. Lots of Chiseling etc. :D
My advice.....Always check with your local BBB, local locksmith association, or The Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA.org) before hiring a locksmith if at all possible. There are many scammers out there as well as inexperienced or overpriced call center run operations. Remember, you are trusting us to take care of you.
