π Is soup the perfect meal?
This week officially marks the beginning of fall. There's nothing more comforting than to hang out around the kitchen table with a bowl full of something warm and satisfying.
A good soup can be a great way to boost your immune system, get your veggies, and warm your tummy.
This lentil soup recipe is a keeper, I promise π Its easy to make and it's super delicious.

When it comes to cooking, you want to choose the right oil for the job because some of the most popular cooking oils are very toxic to your health.
A good rule of thumb is to always steer clear of highly-processed fats that are pumped full of additives and unhealthy ingredients. Refined vegetable oils including canola, sunflower, safflower, corn, soybean, peanut and grape seed oil. These are generally high in disease-causing, artery-clogging trans fats that should be avoided at all costs π’π’
How can you be sure youβre getting enough healthy fats in your diet? Follow this link to my new blog post and read about which fats to eat and cook with <3

Sharing my Green "Machine" breakfast smoothie with y'all. It's Delicious and healthy! π₯¬ππ
One of my favorite breakfast these days is also the one that takes the least amount of time and effort to prepare and cleanup π€πΌIf youβre short on time but still wish to sneak in plenty of healthy foods into your day, green smoothie is your answer!
It seems that no matter what your ailment is β low energy, headaches, muscle and joint pain, or easing menstrual cramps β green smoothies are your solution for all of these problems.
The star ingredient in this smoothie is, of course, the leafy greens! Did you know that leafy greens are more nutritious (when we look at nutrients per gram) than pretty much any other vegetable on earth πͺ
If you choose to eat meat look to get the best quality you can.
Maybe up until now you havenβt thought too much about what the animals you eat today were fed yesterday, but according to a study at the California State Universityβs College of Agriculture, grass-fed beef nutrition includes significantly more omega-3 fatty acids and more conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) than grain-fed beef. CLA has been shown to reduce the risk for heart disease πͺ
Once you understand the vital differences between grass-fed beef and grain-fed beef, youβll look at that burger a bit differently. Besides the higher nutrition profile that you're getting from eating cleaner meat (beef, chicken, pork), the animals that are raised in this way are treated with much more care and respect ππ½
In the Bay we are blessed with good quality food, so its easy to find good quality meat. I buy my meat at @marinsunfarms in Oakland, knowing that I invest my money supporting the right people. If you can't find grass fed meat, at least go for organic meat. Make sure to keep away from unnecessary GMO's (genetically modified organism) in your system so you can keep your body at optimal shape.
Its all about eating consciously π₯°

One of the best method for cooking a whole fish if you ask me is broiling it (you basically use the upper burner of your oven). β β β β β β β β β
You add salt, black pepper and ghee or avocado oil. You broil it for 3-4 minutes until the skin gets crispy, and then flip it. Brush more oil and continue broiling for 2-4 extra minutes until the skin is nice and crispy on both sides. β β β β β β β β β
β β β β β β β β β
Throw in some veggies (I've used peppers and tomatoes) and there you have it, a healthy and delicious dinner under 20 minutes β β β β β β β β β

Are you looking for something light, delicious and easy to make this weekend?
If so, I think you'll love this recipe.
This yellow Thai curry is made in 30 minutes and with ingredients you likely have on hand. Plus, the vegetable and protein options are customizable. You can use chicken, shrimps or a vegetable medley.
Making homemade curry paste is very simple and yields authentic result, but store-bought versions work out fine. Just make sure itβs gluten free and it doesnβt have all the unwanted extra ingredients.
This recipe is inspired by the brilliant @daniellewalker

Nothing screams more Israeli food than this. Growing up, my younger sister Sarit Ben-ami and I used to walk to my grandmother's house every Saturday morning to enjoy this lovely breakfast called sabich. Sabich is when you stuff your pita bread with fried eggplant, hard boiled eggs and potatoes, chopped salad, parsley, amba hummus and tahini. I don't eat gluten on a regular basis, and haven't had it for years, but I have to admit, this time it was hard to resist π
When it comes to food and diet, Its important to be disciplined especially if the food impacts you negatively, but every once in a while when you're REALLY desiring something it's OK to have it and yes without feeling guilty π
Thank you for supporting Plentiful Kitchen's mission to inspire more people to eat nutrient-dense and wholesome food. Food that is nourishing, food that is fuel and food that is medicine. What we eat has a huge impact on our well being. When you feel better, you do better-at home, at work, in your relationships and in the world.
Im humbled by your support and excited by your enthusiasm! Happy holidays β€
