Halloween at the dental office. "Come on down" and see your favorite dental staff.
Come and see us! We are just down the hill from University Place. There's still a lot of construction going on around our office, but we're tucked in there somewhere. I promise. #provodentist #oremdentist #plumtreefamilydental

If a cavity is big enough a crown might be recommended. A crown is a tooth shaped cap that is placed over a tooth to protect any natural tooth that is left once and decay is removed. At the beginning of the procedure, the tooth and surrounding area will be numbed. The dentist will then make a mold of your tooth to be used for the temporary crown. Once a mold is created the dentist will remove any of the unhealthy tooth and add filling material so the crown has something to hold onto. The tooth will then be shaped and prepped for the crown. This involves shaving the sides of the tooth down so there will be space to put the crown over the entire tooth. Once the tooth is prepped an impression will be made for the final crown. The dentist will cement a temporary crown until they receive your final crown. It usually takes about 2 weeks and then you will come back in for your permanent crown to be put in.
