Irene Patricia Toras began her ascent to Heaven on Wednesday, July 15th, 2020 at the age of 70. She came to earth October 10,1949 in Midlothian, Illinois via Thomas and Evelyn Noonan. She was married to John Peter Toras and the loving mother of three children: Jeremy, Jason, and Jennifer. Sister to:: Thomas, Terrence, Kathleen, and Robert. Grandmother to: Karmin, Kayla, Zachary, and Eliana. Aunt, cousin, and friend to anyone she came across.
"She was and forever will be unforgetable. " Love U Mom
Irene was whimsical, witty, and she effortlessly brought people closer. She crafted a world filled with love, laughter, a story or anecdote that allowed you to see more, feel more, be more, feel understood/ accepted with a mighty nod, a clever wink, assuring smile, and kindling curiosity. Her words painted vivid pictures, her vocabulary was captivating, and she initiated playful banter that kept you enthralled. Her heart had reach, depth, and was consistently open. She lifted others up, and made you feel part of the adventure, and every celebration provided a reason for her to make you feel special. If you weren't feeling quite right she would wield her magical ways and infuse belief, courage, and just the right amount of mischief. (She knew no strangers and made friends wherever she went.) She was everyone's favorite aunt, mother, family member, neighbor, party guest, cousin, and person. If you knew Irene, there was always a place for you at her table, in the back yard, and she always made herself available for those in need. Kids ran up to her with a big grin and open arms. Grown ups were eager to hear a story, bend her ear, or grab some giggles. (Family gathered to get their unique dose of specialness and a slice of Irene.) The butterflies will be lonely and the daisies will be looking for a home.

Bernardino Alonso Espinosa (Berna or Benito) of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the age of 86. He was surrounded by his beautiful wife (Linda) and children, Angela Alonzo-Onate (Manny), Jesse Alonzo (Valencia), Rose Cavazos (George), Joe Alonzo (Laura), George Alonzo (Yolanda) and Veronica Ivan (Joe). He was a proud and doting grandfather to Jesse Jr., Dakota, Sarah, Ricardo, Rachel, Cristian, Gabriela, Sophie, Olivia and Chloe. Berna was born in Cupareo, Guanajuato, Mexico on May 24, 1934 to his father, Jose Alonso and mother, Angela Espinosa. The oldest of eight kids, he immigrated to Chicago, Illinois with his wife looking for the American dream.
He became a life-long White Sox fan when he arrived in Chicago. However, once his sons explained the game of football to him, he became an avid Bears fan who would not miss a game. He loved music and would always have his radio on while working in the garden.
Berna was a friendly, easy-going man who embraced everyone he met. He literally gave his shirt off his back to many throughout his life. First and foremost, he was a family man at heart. He loved his wife, kids, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, and grandkids. He was the epitome of what a husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather should be. Everyone admired the way he can start a conversation with a total stranger and he would make it feel like they knew each other for years. He saw the beauty in people and the world. He always had a smile every day, especially when the Chicago Bears won. His kindness and his love will live on through his children and grandchildren because that was how he taught and raised us.
Berna will be greatly missed by his many loved ones here on earth. He will be welcomed with open arms by God and his loved ones that have preceded him in passing.

David (Dave) G Mata- better known as “Mata”
August 28,1959-December 15,2020
Dave was a dedicated father to his four children Rebecca, David, Jaclyn, and Edward, whom he shared with Lisa Considine. A devoted fiancé to Lisa Jett and a loving brother to Mario, Paul, and Yolanda.
His favorite hobbies were taking pictures, going to White Sox games, traveling, golfing, and cracking jokes. More times than not, you wouldn’t catch Dave without his trademark stogie and infamous beer. Although Dave was an exceptional businessman, he was notorious for his photography, that captured precious moments documenting his life with loved ones.
He had a tough exterior, but underneath it all, he was the goofiest man you would ever meet. He didn’t always have the right words but made up for it through his iconic gestures. If he invited you to a White Sox game, that meant he enjoyed your company. If he gave you a nickname, that was an indication of his affection for you.
Although Dave had a long and rough journey, he passed peacefully with his family by his side and the support of all who loved him. He will be truly missed.
Visitation for Dave will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2020, from 3–9 p.m.
On Monday, December 21st, there will be a church service at St. Barbara Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Following the church service, Dave will be put to rest at Mount Carmel Cemetery (Queen of Heaven) at 11:15 a.m.
