For many years, Marcy worked in infusion nursing at Weill Cornell Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. While working with oncology patients who were receiving chemotherapy treatments, Marcy incorporated Reiki into her nursing practice. Reiki is a two-part Japanese word that means universal life source energy (rei) and personal life force energy (ki). A hands-on energy balancing technique, Reiki is used to reduce stress, normalize respiratory and heart rates, reduce inflammation, and enhance the immune system. Marcy has since brought her Reiki practice to Port Jeff Salt Cave, where clients can experience the wonders of Reiki in the salt cave.
In addition to Reiki circles, Port Jeff Salt Cave also offers salt inhalation therapy. Also known as halotherapy, salt air inhalation therapy is a drug-free way to improve respiratory problems, including allergies, sinusitis, asthma, bronchitis, and even the common cold.
