Greenbrier Fishing Team 18 hrs · Congratulations to all of our Greenbrier Teams on completing the first Georgia Bass Nation High School Tournament of the season. The tournament took place on Saturday, October 10, 2020 on West Point Lake. 110 High School teams competed and 50 Junior teams competed on Saturday, with 11 High Schoolers and 5 Juniors advancing to the State Classic scheduled for June 2021. The weather definitely played a part in this tournament. It rained most of the day on Friday while our anglers were prefishing, and on tournament day, the tournament directors opted to move the weigh in time up 1 hour for both the Juniors and High Schoolers because of a storm that was due to hit at 3:00 pm on Saturday. Fortunately for everyone the storm held off until weigh in was completed. It was exciting to see old friends and be back out there competing and supporting each other at weigh in. 3 of the 7 GHS teams attending the tournament were able to qualify for The GABNHS State Classic scheduled for June 2020. It was the first time in over 2 years that we had a junior team competing and they did great fishing their first competitive tournament. They just missed qualifying for the State Classic. We were able to sponsor hole #17 by setting up a potty to chip into for $$. We served blue adult beverages. And also managed the tee off from toilet.
