Our October Employee of the Month is Scarlet Castillo-Sanchez. In her role as Fax Server Technician, Scarlet’s primary role is managing our incoming and outgoing fax communications through our fax server software. Scarlet creates and updates patient profiles in real time when prescriptions are received, ensuring better tracking internally and reducing wait times for patients, and then distributes the prescriptions to the appropriate team member to process. In addition to this critical role, Scarlet is cross trained to help out in other areas when needed.
Fluent in Spanish, Scarlet is a huge help to the team when we get Spanish callers. She is easily able to put our Spanish patients at ease when assisting them with their medication needs. Scarlet’s team loves her positive attitude and appreciates how productive she is throughout the day, keeping up with incoming faxes and setting the pace for the rest of the team.
Scarlet is always thinking about others and often brings forward great ideas for events and team building. We appreciate her thoughtfulness and creativity!

Congratulations to our pharmacist Christine Lewis on her recent certification in Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Christine found her passion for functional medicine in 2015 and has since then continued to learn more about this practice of medicine.
Functional medicine is an evidence based practice of medicine that seeks to find the root cause of symptoms and disease. It utilizes nutrition, supplementation, movement, and other lifestyle factors to help stop symptoms and reverse disease.
Our nation is not only facing a pandemic but also a chronic disease epidemic. Current practices of medicine often help relieve symptoms with medications, but are not addressing the underlying cause.
