A large name door company did this to an Albany RR3000 slat door because they didn't know how to secure , let alone low the jammed door.
Unbelievable that anyone would cut and tex screw slats vertically to the whole door , wrecking the rest of the good slats with holes!
More reason to call the RIGHT DOOR SPECIALIST and not the stickers placed by others on equipment they really don't know or have actually worked on

This drive unit was leaking and had affected the braking system as well as the encoder. One of the large Nationwide competitors had already spent thousands of dollars in labor and still had not fixed the problem with the door drifting and losing position.
We were not only able to salvage the old drive unit but repair the leak and repair the brake as well as clean off the encoder saving the client a little over $5,000. He was able to return the parts he didn't need and save money because his lease is up in a few months. That's what a partnership in business is all about. PHSD was called into address a motor that broke loose on an Albany high speed rubber door. Unfortunately it was not the doors failure or the design but the installers who did not tighten the bolts on the motor bracket properly. This is why piecework and subbing out performance doors is not an appropriate decision. Sometimes saving a few hundred dollars in order to sell a job results in failures like this.

Another reason to hire a performance door expert and not use the big name door companies who promise they are experts in equipment they work on maybe 2-3 times a years.
This client found a door that had the control wires run in the column with moving parts but didn't secure them, just used black tape to keep them back. Destroyed the encoder cable, power to the light curtain and LEDs.

Precision has been specializing in shopping cart conveyors long before any other company even knew what or how these conveyors worked. And last night proved once again why we are the masters in our field. This 550 pound drive unit needed to be replaced after a "well known company" serviced it thus damaging the reducer which burned the motor. We not only replaced it but cleaned up the mess and adjusted the unit to run so smooth that you can not hear it. Again, call the best.....not the rest!
