This year, the importance of National Patient Safety Day has been taken to a whole new level for obvious reasons. We want to take this day to remind our patients of our strict and cautionary preventative measures that have been, and will continue to take place, in our offices. We require all patients, visitors, and Precision team members to wear masks and PPE as well as sanitize multiple times through their work day. We continue to consistently wipe down all surfaces with disinfectant spray, as well as maintain proper social distancing. We have created an environment where all of our patients can feel safe, and if there is anything we can do to increase feelings of safety please let us know. We hope to see you soon ❤️
Overbites are incredibly common among children. In fact, just about everyone has an overbite, but there is only a problem if your overbite is too large or too small. If you are concerned that your child may have too large of an overbite, don’t be too alarmed, it’s very treatable! When you visit us at Precision Orthodontics, we can evaluate your child’s overbite and see if they will be needing a retainer or braces to repair the problem. Once your child has their braces put on, make sure they keep braces wax on hand. This wax is used to help prevent pain from any potential wires that poke the sides of the cheeks or gums when properly applied to the braces. If your child is having trouble getting the wax to do its job, here are a few tips: 1. Be sure to dry the area that you are applying wax to with a cotton ball or paper towel 2. Pull off a generous amount of wax and roll it into a ball with your fingers 3. Stick the wax ball onto the wire/bracket that’s bothering you

Some may say this is the month of gratitude, but in our opinion, this has been a year of gratitude for us. There have been many challenges and hardships in 2020, but we are so thankful that we have been able to continue to do what we love most, and it’s all because of our loyal patients. Thank you for trusting in us when things felt so uncertain, and for following all safety precautions so well. We are so thankful for you this year and every year ❤️

A question we often hear from our patients is: “Can I whiten my teeth with my braces on?” We recommend that any patients with traditional braces do not whiten their teeth until their orthodontic treatment is complete. We recommend this to avoid uneven colorings post-treatment. However, choosing a darker colored band will make teeth appear whiter while treatment is still ongoing.
We know our lives are getting busy again with school, after school activities, and work, so here’s your friendly reminder that there are just a few weeks left in 2020 for you to use your benefits. If you’re due to come in or have been considering an orthodontic experience, we encourage you to call our offices to schedule an appointment time that works best for you.
In honor of World Kindness Day, we are sharing our favorite quote on kindness: “There are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind.” -Mr. Rogers ❤️
