Johnson continued to work in the shop, assisted by his son, Nelson, until he was well past 80 years old....
In his later years, he slept in a small room, in the back of the shop, and he died peacefully in 1985, at the age of 95, while he was sleeping in his shop....
Johnson's Harley-Davidson was in business “60” years, and closed for good in 1988....

Finished up this 2004 Harley Softail Heritage. 14” Gorilla Ape bars, extended cables , extended wiring, all connections fully soldered and head shrink twice. L to right, Flip mirror mod. Ok this is just NUTS!!! The struggle is real. Here is a snowmobile I repaired last year. Doing a compression check. It locked up. I pulled pipe and almost died!! Took head off vacuumed out nuts and ran it. Still runs the nuts!
