Dean Matsuda, MD, is one of the top five hip arthroscopy specialists in the United States. At Premier Hip Arthroscopy, in Marina Del Rey, California, Dr. Matsuda uses his extensive experience and knowledge to perform state-of-the-art hip surgeries that help his patients get back on their feet as quickly and safely as possible.
Dr. Matsuda earned his medical degree at the University of California at Davis. He went on to serve his internship and his orthopedic residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Matsuda is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the Western Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Matsuda lectures on arthroscopic hip surgery around the world and has created training videos on femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and labral tears for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He serves on the editorial board of the journal Orthopedics Today®, is an education committee member of the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy, and is a senior member of the Multicenter Arthroscopic Surgery of the Hip (MASH) study group.

As a former running back who now runs, surfs, and golfs, Dr. Matsuda has an intimate knowledge of the orthopedic needs of his patients. He has had arthroscopic hip surgery in both of his hips and understands precisely what his patients experience during the procedure.
