It's always nice to have a large selection of toys and treats to pull from to keep them mentally active and engaged.

Were you aware that today is Reptile and Amphibian Awareness Day?? There are approximately 10,000 different species of reptiles in the world, and about 7,000 different species of amphibians. The study of these guys is called "herpetology."
Reptiles and amphibians are some of the hardest hit when it comes to habitat loss and population decline, with at least 2,000 amphibians in danger of extinction. This is why conservation of endangered species is so important.
The Grand Cayman blue iguana is a perfect example of conservation at its best. In 2002, there were only 10-25 blue iguanas in the wild. Today, there are roughly 1,000!! All thanks to a man named Fred Burton, who made it his mission to save the species. He now leads the Blue Iguana Recovery Program (BIRP). Today we joined Keeper Julia in the Natural Treasures Building to feed the magnificent tree frogs and our Grand Cayman blue iguana, Monster.
