Hey San Diego! Hope you’re having a great day! I have a PSA for you all to pay very close attention to..... Bumped into a few clients recently ( one being a large HOA we do work at ) that didn’t know that gas fireplaces ( fuel pipe fed fireplaces ) are Not designed to withstand temperatures given from wood burning logs. Typically, fuel pipe fed fireplaces are rated to withstand 400 up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. They also typically have B rated venting to accommodate these temperature specific ranges. They ( metal type fireplaces or fireplaces with a fuel pipe going into it ) are Not rated to accommodate wood burning ( or Duraflame logs ) in them. Wood burning fireplaces ( typical brick walls and chimney, flue damper, ECT ) start around 500 to 600 degrees ( once they start going ) an typically go up to 1200 to 1500+ degrees Fahrenheit! In other words - Ka Boom !!! You just blew yourself up or hurt yourself real bad! 😎🏴‍☠️ Please Keep yourself , your family an friends Safe an aware of proper fireplace usage!
