This is something vet techs hear constantly and sometimes its true...but there are other days where we wish it was true. Some days we are trying our hardest to save someone's pet who was hit by a car, sometimes we are helping a dog deliver their litter, sometimes we are trying to help a cat get unblocked.
There are days where we get vomit on us, we get pooped on, we get peed on, we get other bodily fluids on us.
There are days where we don't get to eat, or go to the bathroom.
But those are days where we wouldn't change our job because we love doing what we do.

-Baked Goods (pies, tarts, etc) - baked goods could possibly be made with Xylitol which is extremely toxic to cats and dogs, but baked goods can also cause hypoglycemia which can result to liver failure

-Onions and Garlic - can cause anemia in both cats and dogs, and can be very toxic.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow...we are all prepping for the holiday foods! But here are two types of foods that can't be fed to our furry family members!
-Bouillon Cubes - can cause high levels of sodium in cats and dogs
-Animal Bones - cooked animal bones tend to splinter and can cause damage to the throat, plus they aren't digestible so it then causes a foreign body.

🤓Not to worry if you answered no to either of the above , we have all the information right here for you, on a handy poster, so you can keep your pets safe and away from poisons.
🤓As you can see from the picture most of these poisons are very common items we'd all have at home such as chocolate, vitamins, paracetamol and lilies.
🤓 It's so important to act quickly if you think your pet has consumed any of these poisons. If you have found what your pet has eaten, packaging or remains of it then you should bring this with you to your vets.

Did you know that Polar Bears aren't actually white? They have black skin and hollow colorless hair. Their hollow fur reflects light and trap the sun's heat to help keep them warm.
They also roll around in snow to clean themselves.

For the past couple of months, we know our clients have been having a hard time getting food for their pets from Royal Canin. We are aware of the back order issues and we are also trying to make sure we stock the items here in the clinic.
If your pet is on Royal Canin and are running low, please don't wait till you are completely out to get a refill. Please call our office at 410-923-7387 to see if we have that item in stock or if you have any questions.
We are in the process of finding alternatives to the back ordered items. We thank you all for your patience.

Today is National K-9 Veterans' Day. Today is a day to remember and thank all of our K9 working dogs past and present.
Military Working dogs have been part of military campaigns for centuries, however, we didn't have a day to remember them or celebrate them till a Vietnam Veteran and K9 Handler from Jacksonville Florida created the day. Joe White picked March 13th because the US K9 Corps was created on March 13th 1942.
