As we close out the month of September we want to give a shout out to the Hennings, our current Family of the Month. When asked why they chose Primrose this was part of their response: "We have found that Primrose is a perfect arrangement of nurturing care for our boys as well as developmentally appropriate instruction and curriculum to maintain engagement. Primrose strikes a unique balance of being extraordinarily professional and knowledgeable coupled with being extraordinarily loving. We have not only felt support for our two children who are enrolled, but the staff have extended their kindness to our entire family. We had thought this type of setting was an anomaly/unicorn! Some happy news to warm you up on this chilly fall morning - the Primrose team has grown by one! Congratulations to PreK Lead Teacher Mrs. Lewellen and her husband on the birth of their baby boy! We are so excited for her family!
Celebrating our families, traditions, cultures, and backgrounds is just one of the many things classes are working on during this unit of Alike and Different studies. Today, students shared objects that reflect their family culture and traditions from Morocco to Ireland, Texas, farmlands, and everywhere in between!
We also are excited to share our history though food with the first edition Primrose Prairie Trail cookbook containing traditional recipes from all of our families!
We love our Primrose parents - Happy National Working Parents Day! We are thankful for each of you and appreciate everyone coming out last night for our COVID-adapted Meet the Teacher event! Hopefully the pizza made dinner prep a little easier after a busy day!

Thank you to the Branan and Grundstad family for yummy treats today, and to the Ankeny Fire Department for dropping off fire safety items for our students as part of National Fire Prevention week! The fire engines could not visit with us due to COVID restrictions but we appreciate all the great reminders from them. Students did a great job with their fire drill this week too!

We have loved visiting with grandparents near and far this month through our COVID-adapted virtual reading series to celebrate Grandparents Day! It has been extra special to see the bonds between grandparent and child even through a screen. Thank you to our friends at Vintage Hills Senior Living for reading with us virtually too!
Congratulations to Miss Williamson, our September selection for the Apple of our Eye award! We appreciate how flexible and willing to adapt she has been this year, especially as she has helped her students adapt to online learning and hybrid schooling. She does a great job balancing the needs of a variety of ages, grade levels, work loads and learning styles. Thank you for being a part of Primrose Prairie Trail Miss Williamson! We appreciate you!

What a fun week of Halloween celebrations! We finished out Friday with a surprise transformation of the lobby and modified costume parade. Stay tuned for our pumpkin decorating contest winners to be announced Monday!
What a fun night at our first Trunk or Treat! Make sure to VOTE on your favorite pumpkin by 'liking' the individual picture. An extra special thank you to all the families and staff who participated this evening - your creativity is awesome!!
This month we raise awareness for breast cancer fighters and survivors! We are incredibly thankful for the kindness and generosity of the Primrose Prairie Trail community to one of our own Primrose families going through breast cancer treatment right now. We were able to donate over $165 and about 20 individual cards, gift cards and other thoughtful gifts. Thank you to Prairie Trail shop @elin. for their thoughtful contribution and to Main Street Café & Bakery for their participation in raising money for breast cancer awareness through donations from their cookies. It was a win-win for our staff to enjoy a tasty treat while the money went to a great cause. Our Primrose friend, Og, teaches us about Caring, and this month has been a great example of how we demonstrate caring for our community.

We are so proud and thankful for the eight staff members who celebrated their first work anniversary this week at Primrose Prairie Trail!
