It's Fire Prevention Week!
We are learning all about firefighters and fire safety this week. Today, we decided to dress up like firefighters 👩🚒🧑🚒
Check out our Kindergarten students' self portraits!
The students learned all about famous artist Frida Kahlo and how she put special details into her art work. Then they used mirrors to look at their own faces and inspect their unique features and included these details into their pictures . They used a mix of crayons , oil pastels and tempera paint sticks to create their works of art.

Check out our all stars sporting their favorite team shirts today! ⚾️🏀🏈⚽️
Our school is always full of superstars but today it was full of superheroes!! 🦸♀️🦸🦸♂️
Our Kindergarten students spent the week talking about what they want to be when they grow up. They created projects to reflect what they chose and on Friday, they held a "Career Day" and dressed up as their future selves!
We are showing our support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink every Friday in October.
Today, we also celebrated "National Cupcake Day" by making, decorating, and eating pink cupcakes! 🧁
Our new and exclusive Harmony & Heart™ program combines music, children’s literature, and character development through our very own books and songs. Each book features one of our twelve Primrose Friends with complementary music and songs that reinforce key character development traits.
Each month, we take time to learn more about one friend in particular. This month, we are learning more about Katie®, the curious cat who is interested in people’s lives and social skills. She is very polite and fun to be around, helping Primrose children learn to share and care about each other. We wore orange to school today to celebrate Katie's birthday!
We are back! Our Facebook account experienced a technical issue that prevented us from posting for the past week. However, we wanted to be sure to take the time to acknowledge Veterans' Day and the beautiful tribute our families helped us create.
This year, we decided to display our "Hall of Heroes" on the front window so that everyone could see the family members of our students and staff who have served in the military.
We all wore red, white, and blue to school in honor of Veterans Day. The students spent the day reading books and learning about what it means to be a veteran and the selfless sacrifices they make to keep our country safe and free. They also created patriotic works of art and one of our classes made a special heart for two of our parents who are veterans.
Today, and every day, we honor and thank all those who have served.
We had a busy day at Primrose yesterday!
We spent the day celebrating Miss Amanda's birthday. There were flowers and cards and cakes (yes, multiple cakes 🤭) and a lot of love 🧁🎂🍰 Special shoutout to Miss Marianela for making a beautiful and delicious cake!
In the afternoon, we had a special visit from the Berkeley Heights Fire Department! Our Preschool through Kindergarten students were able to take advantage of the beautiful weather and enjoy a fire safety and prevention presentation outside. They met our local firefighters and learn all about their job and their truck. 🧑🚒
Election Day is a way to help our students understand the importance of civic involvement and citizenship early on. At Primrose, we teach students about giving back to the local community. Voting is a great way for each of them to give back and understand how respectfully voicing their opinions can have real-life results.
Today, our Early Preschool through Kindergarten students voted for our presidential Primrose Friend mascot. The two candidates were Mia the Mouse and Percy the Rooster. Our students learned about what each character stands for and then headed to the ballot box to cast their votes!
We had a spooktacular time celebrating Halloween today! 👻 🎃
We love how much our students love their teachers!
One of our students asked his dad if he could make a card for his teacher. What a beautiful, sweet, and thoughtful gesture. We think he did an amazing job ❤️
Our Toddler friends were feeling fall-ish on Friday!
We explored the season in many different ways throughout the day including art (through painting and coloring) and math (through counting, matching, and sorting).
Incorporating the current season into our lessons helps the children tie what they are learning to their real-life experiences. This is one way we ensure our students remain engaged in learning throughout the day.
We want to wish a very Happy Birthday to two special people:
our head cook, Miss Michelle, and our lead Pre-K3 teacher, Miss Gladys!
Miss Michelle spends every day making sure all the students in the school are well-fed. She knows every child by name and we love seeing the kids' faces light up when they spot her down the hall and call out "Hi Miss Michelle!"
Miss Gladys has been at Primrose for over 6 years and every day she brings the same incredible level of enthusiasm to her classroom - even when the kids aren't there! You can see what I mean in this throwback video that Miss Gladys made for her students during our closure last spring.
Happy Birthday ladies! We hope your days are as fabulous as you are! 🥳🎉
It's Super Bowl Weekend!
We decided to kick things off with a football-filled Friday. Our friends wore their favorite jersey or team colors to school and participated in some fun footbal games and activities. What a great way to get ready for the big game! 🏈
We had ❄SNOW❄ much fun today!
After being home for two days because of the snow, our students were so excited to be back at school today enjoying the snow with their friends!❄⛄
Due to the impact of the ongoing winter storm and dangerous road conditions, PSBH will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 2.

What a perfect day for some pie!
Our Preschool friends spent the week learning about sequencing. They reinforced what they had learned by applying it to a real life task: making a pie!
First, we need to gather all the ingredients. Next, we cut up the apples and mix the ingredients together. Last, we place everything together in a pan and place it in the oven to bake.
What a fun (and delicious 😋) way to learn!
