Come see what makes Primrose Carol Stream so special!!
We are excited to announce Ms. Adams is the Apple
of our Eye for the month of October! Ms. Adams is
our Preschool Pathways Teacher. She has 6 years
of experience working with children. Her favorite
thing about working with children is watching them
grow and learn. When she isn’t working she loves
volleyball and coaches it as well. She enjoys reading
mystery books, Mexican food, and comedies. Ms.
Adams is always smiling and willing to lend a hand.
We are so grateful for all the hard work she has put
in. We are so happy to have her with us!
Got Stage Fright? Our Toddlers don't! They did a mini presentation on their "All About Me" poster which included telling their friends and teachers about their families. Go Todds!
What color are your eyes!! Our PreK class learned how living things are alike and different. The students compared their eye color to others, and then colored them in!👁
We want to give a big thank you to our teachers, and we want your help! We are asking parents to bring in any delicious food for the whole school. Teachers will enjoy their lunch starting at 11am on October 5th.
How are you getting ready for spooky season? 🎃 Pre-K added a pumpkin activity to Math and Science time!! How many seeds did it have? Our students got to guess how many seeds, the closest estimate was 1,000. We counted 679 seeds!!! We discussed the texture and got to feel the icky gooeyness.
We celebrated World Teacher’s Day yesterday!! Our teachers are the heart and soul of our school and we truly wanted to recognize and appreciate their hard work. A big THANK YOU to our amazing families that brought in all the scrumptious food!! We are so thankful for your generosity!!
Our Pathways students are becoming architects! The class worked together to create a house out of recycled materials! ♻️
Primrose understands the troubles of doing e learning during these times. We have great teachers who are hands on! And we are so appreciative to all the families teaming up with Primrose every step of the way!
Early Preschools art lesson was all about outside textures! The class got to use chalk and motor skills to color on the rough texture of the sidewalk! 📏They talked about different colors and how textures were being made!
Preschool students created their own masterpieces! 🎨Preschool looked at a seascape painting, they talked about the wind, and different colors. These little artist were inspired to paint their own seascape painting.
Happy Birthday Katie!! 🐱Katie is all about cooperation.
Katie is the curious cat who is interested in people’s lives and social skills. She is very polite and fun to be around, helping Primrose children learn to share and care about each other!
We are so excited to share with you some photos from our first Teacher In-Service day!! It was such a great learning experience and we had such a fun time being able to get together as a group. We did an active shooter training with the Carol Stream Police Department, and we learned a lot of great information!! Thank you so much Officer Paskevicz, Boshart, Larsen, and Heckerman. Our teachers also enjoyed painting Halloween Pumpkins 🎃
Preschool Pathways are loving Harmony and Hearts! They wave their scarfs around never missing a beat 🎼Can you groove better than these kids!
It's just a bunch of Hocus Pocus!! Getting ready for Spirit Week! Oct 26th-30th👻
Toddlers are playing Hide and Peek with animals! They found animals living under the leaves of the tree and named what animal it was!🌳 Lets take a look on what they found!
It's time for the Penny Wars!! The competition is getting heated here at Primrose! Don't forget to bring in your extra change and vote for your favorite Pumpkin. Silver and Bills are negative, Pennies are positive. This Friday would be the last day to vote!!
Our Director of Childhood Nutrition makes fresh quality food. Just ask our students!🍽

How Children Show Kindness at a Young Age
In honor of Veterans’ Day, we had our Primrose students make Thank You cards for our Veterans. Showing our respect for those who have served. To show our support, we are donating needed items and delivering the Thank You cards to Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. 🇺🇸
And the Winner is....Mia!! 🇺🇸She won by a landslide 21-8! At Primrose, Election Day isn’t about who wins or loses. It’s organized to help our students understand the importance of civic involvement and voting at an early age.
Thanksgiving is a time to stop and reflect on everything we're grateful for, and at Primrose it's a long list. Phil's Friends support those affected by cancer through creating packages with comforting items that our friends with cancer need and enjoy! You can drop off donations until December 1st.
As we go into the holidays, we want to express our gratitude to our families and staff. By sharing one more Thanksgiving meal with our second family. Our Director of Childhood Nutrition made Turkey, sweet Potatoes, green peas and muffins! Thank you for the food before us, the friends beside us and the love between us.
To our Wonderful Primrose Families,
The last almost 5 months have gone by so quickly. It has been such a joy to see each child come into our school and all the new things they are learning and accomplishing. As we all reflect on the things we are thankful for during this time, I want to share how thankful we are for each family at our school. We are thankful for the trust you gave us during such an unknown time in our world. We are thankful for each of the children that come into our school everyday bringing so much joy with them. We are also thankful for the continued support we receive from each family every day. Finally, we are thankful for all of our staff that go above and beyond each day to make our school a truly special place.
Today is FUN FOOD WEDNESDAY! Since we are closed on Friday, we couldn’t let the week go by without sharing some tasty treats! Mr. Forrest and Ms. Rubio have made chocolate chip cookies. We hope you enjoy them! We hope you all have a happy, healthy and relaxing Thanksgiving!
What makes a cookbook so special is reading about other families' Thanksgiving Traditions. It’s our first family cookbook together. 🥧Good food is all the sweeter when shared with good people.
SNOW DAY!! ❄️ Our students had snow much fun making snow angels and throwing snowballs at their teachers!
With so many donations coming in for our Caring & Giving Food Drive, we had our Pre-K class help out and count for us! 📈 We aren't sure what's more out of this world, the students estimations or how many donations we've been getting! Don't forget you have until the end of November to bring in Donations!
Dear Primrose families,
We want to welcome our newest addition to the family! Baby Madelyn! She was born on November 27th weighting 7lbs 13oz. We can't wait to meet her, congrats to Mrs. and Mr. Green!
Dear Primrose Families,
We got more baby fever for you! We want to welcome baby Laila. She was born on November 27th weighting 8lbs 3oz. Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Amin! Laila is going to have the best big brother!
We are excited to announce Ms. Zamudio is the
Apple of our Eye for the month of December. Ms.
Zamudio is our Toddler Teacher. She has 5 years of
experience with children. She was born in New York
and lived there for 8 years before moving here. She
was on the track team and loves being active.
She loves the outdoors and going on walks with her
dog, Torito and Bella. She enjoys watching movies
and listening to music. She is always keeping our
toddlers moving. She is very nurturing, always has a
smile, and is always making people laugh.
We are so happy to have her with us!
Hi everyone, we are the Ray family! We are grateful to have found Primrose School and are excited to be the December Family of the Month! Nolan joined the Pathways classroom a few months ago and he LOVES spending his days here!
Our family is made up of mommy, daddy, 8-year-old Vera, 3-year-old Nolan and our cute pup, Misty. Our favorite activities include spending time outside: hiking, camping, biking, and especially playing sports. Vera plays soccer with the Carol Stream Panthers and Nolan enjoys toddler sports classes while patiently waiting to be old enough to join a team like his big sister! If it was up to him, that would be ASAP!
Our other favorite things to do are play games, be silly, eat at a restaurant, play hero & bad guy, and go on vacation. Our next trip is Disney World in November 2021 and it will be Nolan's first time! We don't know who's more excited about it; Nolan or mommy!
Our Explore students have become scientist! The students designed sleds that they got to push around by their Dash and Dots Robots!🤖They also created mazes and controlled the Robots to work through them!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 🎄Little bit of Christmas cheer popping up throughout our school. Have you finished your Christmas decorating?
Christmas is a season of giving so all of our staff members are getting 12 days of Christmas!🎁 On each one of these 12 days is a little gift to show our teachers how much they mean to us!
We were able to raise over $485 from our Penny Wars, and our wonderful owners the Vaghani’s are matching what is being donated. To our pleasant and biggest surprise, the Apple of our Eye, Ms. Gujarathi, decided to graciously donate her well-earned bonus. In total we raised $1120 and donated it to Metropolitan Family Services. Metropolitan Family Services provides a wide variety of programs and services designed to strengthen families, from early learning, afterschool, and job readiness programs to counseling, mental health services, homeless shelters, and legal assistance. Our vision to give back to the community was brought to life in such a bigger way than originally planned. We’re so proud that we as a huge family helped our community.
Thank you to the Amin family for the sweets, we appreciate you, and all our families! 🧁These cupcakes disappeared right away! We give them 5 stars, thanks for the wonderful gesture!
Students do better in school when parents get involved. Attending parent teacher conferences is one way to be involved and help your child succeed. Here at Primrose we offer many resources to help prepare your child for their Elementary Education!
“To kindness and love, the things we need most!"-Grinch
Hide your gifts and Christmas trees, students in Pre-K are preparing to steal Christmas! They made Grinch masks to hide their adorable faces!
“Dear Santa, define nice.” Our students are writing to Santa! 📮Primrose has a direct line to Santa with our own North Pole Express Post! We’re excited for Santa to write back!
Letters straight from Santa’s desk! We got the letters early this morning, they are still cold since they came right from the North Pole!
We wanted to make Christmas extra special for our families.💚 We made Christmas plates with paintings done by the children and with the help from Ms. Mims and Ms. Terrel. We wanted to create a special holiday moment for our families. We wish you all the love and wishes this holiday!
This week, we received a special holiday gift from one of our families. The Fellowes Family made a donation to Make-A-Wish in honor of our school. “Our wish was that I (Bradley) would have somewhere safe to go during the day while mom worked, and dad went back to school. Primrose answered that wish. I have loved everyday with my friends and teachers and only wish that other kids could be so lucky. This year I donated my Christmas money to Make A Wish on behalf of Primrose. Maybe since we got our wish, someone else might get their wish. Merry Christmas and Thank you!” -Bradley Fellowes
We are absolutely blown away by their generosity and will be donating to the foundation ourselves in order to keep on giving.

We are the Bergman family: Brittany, Dan, Selah, Eamon, and our dog, Riley! We’re so excited to be the January Family of the Month! Selah is 5 years old and loves playing with her friends and drawing pictures in the pre-K classroom. Eamon is 1.5 years old and loves climbing and playing with trucks in the toddler classroom. Brittany is a book editor and author, and Dan is a real estate agent. We love having movie night every Friday, when the kids choose a movie and we order takeout. We also love going on walks, playing at the park, and (before pandemic life) going to Six Flags. We all love roller coasters, fast rides, and funnel cakes! And of course, we love Disney World and hope to visit again next year. At home, the kids enjoy reading books, playing pretend, and running laps around the kitchen. We are so happy to be part of the Primrose family, and we have noticed a huge difference in Selah and Eamon since they started attending. Selah has made so many friends and comes home singing lots of new songs, and Eamon has started saying all kinds of new words. The kids adore their teachers, and it’s a gift to us as parents to know that they are well cared for and loved when they’re at school!
We are excited to announce Ms. Rueda is the Apple of our Eye for the month of January. She is our Preschool Teacher, and she has 5 years of experience working with children. Ms. Rueda wants to get her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. She speaks fluent Spanish and knows basic Japanese. She would love to learn more languages so she can speak to anyone! Her passion for teaching started out with watching a few children in her home. Now she hopes to eventually have her own preschool! Her favorite thing about working with children is seeing all their personalities come out as they grow. We are so happy to have her with us!🍎

Today we shared dreams, messages of peace, and treating others with kindness and compassion. These are just a few ways Primrose of Carol Stream honored Martin Luther King Jr. Day! At Primrose School of Carol Stream, students collaborated on art projects, and reading about that MLK Jr message to America. Classes contributed by making a bulletin board that includes hand paintings with different skin tones, and drawings of what they think the world needs more of to be a better place. We got wonderful answers such as more dogs, more horses, and more candy canes. It’s important to start talking to children about fairness, respect for others, kindness, caring and courage.
You probably noticed that kids were served sweet potatoes as a side for lunch today. The reason why is because it was Martin Luther King Jr. favorites. Growing up in the South sweet potatoes were something that they could get in abundance and they were easy to spice up. Mr. Forrest did just the same for our students today. They were a Primroses favorite today!
Martin Luther King Jr. believed in the power of peace, love and hope, traits our students put into practice through inspired activities to commemorate his timeless messages.

This year we wanted to dive in and learn so much about other cultures. As the world is becoming more connected each day and raising the next generation to be kind, open-minded and compassionate toward others, regardless of background, will help lead to a bright future. At Primrose School of Carol Stream, we are striving to celebrate and include different cultures. The festival of Uttarayan takes place on January 14th. This date marks the end of winter and the beginning of a new harvest season for farmers in Gujarat. In celebration of this day, adults, and children fly kites all day. Colorful kites dot the skies as each one attempts to outdo the other. In honor of Uttarayan, we will have students create and decorate their own kite. We hope that celebrating other cultures, will help children learn to embrace and experience different cultures from an early age. Our goal is to expose our children to many different cultures, traditions, and experiences and in doing so, we hope that they begin to see a united and unified world.
National Compliment Day is this Sunday! A little kindness goes a long way. Give someone a compliment today, and every day, to lift them up. Whether you’re giving a compliment or receiving one, kind words feel good. Letting kids feel the power of compassion, can help make the simple exchange a lifelong habit. In honor of Compliment Day, students made compliments cards in class to pass out to friends and family!

Our teachers can be really competitive, as we got to play games! And created vision boards for each of our classrooms, they were truly inspiring! And of course what better way to end the day, but with ice cream!
We’re growing!! And we’re looking for dedicated candidates who are just as excited about helping children develop and learn as we are. If you are passionate about education, nurturing children and are looking for an environment with high standards for health and safety, consider a career with us! Watch our video and hear from real teachers that work at Primrose School of Carol Stream!
So grilled to see you! Here’s a before and after of our grilled cheese! 🥪Mr. Forrest took the grilled cheese to a whole healthier level. It’s packed with protein and calcium that comes from the melted cheese. And fiber that comes from the whole wheat bread. Mr. Forrest always wants the students to be healthy and get the best nutrients, all while enjoying the food. #primrosecarolstream #primrosefood

Happy Toothday!🦷 Primrose School of Carol Stream had our local dentist Carol Stream Dental Associates visit our Pre-K and Preschool students! We talked about good dental hygiene and students learned how to brush their teeth and what foods to stay away from! They sure are handy when you smile, so keep your teeth around a while!"
