Today is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day! “Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” We take this day to celebrate the birthday, the life, and the service of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King helped bring the people of the United States together as a nation with his activism in the civil rights movement. One of Dr. King’s most famous speeches “I Have a Dream” was about all of his dreams for the future. We’d love to know what your dreams are for the future! Erwin, Molly, and Og are three of our Primrose Friends who exemplify Dr. King’s teachings. Erwin’s character trait is Friendship, Molly’s is Respect for Others, and Og’s is Caring. They help us build our character to become the best people we can be! To help us celebrate Dr. King take a hand print and write down your dreams. They can be for yourself, for your children, or just in general. Leave the hand print in the jar and we will create a chain of hands to put in our lobby for everyone to see!

Today in Toddler One, for our unit theme of "What's Beneath My Feet?" we took a picture walk through a book about the beach. One of the things we can do at the beach is make a sand castle! We made our versions of sand castles using recycled paper to create a collage. Did you know toddlers can use glue? They can! And they love it!
