Congratulations to our Family of the Month, The Brocks! A fun fact about our family is that we are all on the same street, Falcon Pass Drive, for work and school. Elliot is at Primrose, Mr. Brock works as a teacher at the LSC (CCISD Learner Support Center) and Mrs. Brock is the counselor at Falcon Pass Elementary. Another interesting fact about our family is that Elliot has a condition called hydrocephalus. This means that he has a build-up of fluid in his brain that doesn't drain like typical brains do. Because of this, he has a shunt in his head that helps to drain the fluid into a tube that goes into his belly. He is just like the other kids in his class, just with a bump on his head where the shunt is at! We do consider him our hero though, because he has been so tough and brave in his young life being just 17 months old and having 4 brain surgeries so far! We chose Primrose because it was located so close to our workplaces, but we really fell in love when we toured and saw how engaged kiddos are in the learning and knew Elliot would thrive here. Over this past year, we have been so comforted to see how loved Elliot is by all of his teachers and how much care they give toward him. He misses being at school when we have to be away and he goes back enthusiastically each time! Thank you to all of the teachers he has had so far, and special thank you to his current teacher, Ms. Rodgers, for taking great care of our kiddo!
Please help us congratulate Mr. J'Lihl "Jay" Allen as our Apple of our Eye for the month of October.

It Is Living: Today we talked more about living and nonliving things as well as similar and different. We also learned a new song called “It Is Living”. Preschoolers differentiate between animate and inanimate objects and living/nonliving things. They begins to differentiate stories that are real and make believe (fantasy vs. reality; fiction vs. nonfiction) and asks if characters are real or not. www.PrimroseClearLake.com

The book for this week focuses on rules that parents teach their children. We learned some rules teach respect for parents, older people, or their country. Other rules teach us how to speak and act in a respectful way. www.PrimroseClearLake.com
We learned that trees start as seeds and then they grow big and tall. We visually explored pictures of seeds and trees. Infants made acorn shakers to listen and explore the sounds made when you shake the seeds in the bottle. Our teacher sang the tree song to bring awareness and interest of living things.
In Small Group Math today, we sorted items based on their attributes. We worked together to count the faces of the shapes we sorted. Learning outcomes: Differentiates between shapes, Recognizes common attributes of two- and three-dimensional shapes, Matches shapes and names, Recognizes and describes 3D shapes. www.PrimroseClearLake.com
Painting Colors in Our World! Today we talked about various colors in the world. We asked ourselves what colors we see when we look out the window and in the sky. www.PrimroseClearLake.com

Garden Tools! Toddlers are eager to explore, discover, and learn, showing curiosity by seeking to discover or learn new things and by exploring objects.
Congratulations to the Selvas, our Family of the Month! Tell us a fun fact about your family… We have a second baby on the way who will be joining the Primrose family in summer of 2021! As a family we love sports and the outdoors. During the sports themed spirit days at school you’ll likely see Carly representing the Minnesota teams her parents love, at least until she is old enough to claim her own allegiances :-D Why you chose Primrose for your child care needs… From the day we toured the school before Carly was born we knew it was going to be the right place for our family. We loved the warmth of the teachers and staff who shared our view that the childcare they provide is a partnership in our parenting. We also loved that even as infants the children get to spend time outside. Why you continue to stay at Primrose… The big smile on her face every morning when she sees the staff and teachers reinforces to us that Carly really enjoys her time at school. Now that she is a toddler she is starting to talk about the friends she has in her classroom and we are continually amazed at the things she learns through all of her daily exposures. Give a short shout out to your children's teachers… We are so thankful for all you do for the children in your care! Especially in these unprecedented times, we are grateful for how hard you are working to keep the school safe and accessible to your families. Every teacher we have had from infant to toddler we have so much respect for and are so pleased by the way you nurture Carly and her development each and every day.

Educator of the Year voting results are in! This year we had a tie between two of our most amazing teachers: Ms. Salyer and Ms. Watkins! These two lovely ladies go above and beyond every day to make sure our children are happy, safe, and learning. We're also blessed to have so many amazing teachers on our team that made this such a close race!
Our little ones #voted today for the Educator of the Year! They selected from all staff members who have been with us for at least a year. We loved teaching them about democracy and citizenship and they loved getting their very own “I voted” sticker just like mom and dad!
