It is Fire Prevention Week and our friends at Primrose have been learning about "What Firemen do for our community" and about fire safety. The kids did crafts and learned the importance of "Stop Drop and Roll" amongst other things. We wanted to express our thanks to the Friendswood Firefighters for all that they do.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month - Please join us every Friday this month by wearing pink in support.
Our Preschoolers are all enjoying this beautiful weather!
Happy Anniversary Ms. Matty! We are so grateful for you and all that you do for our Pre-K kiddos!
Today we celebrated World Teacher’s Day with a yummy carnival-themed popcorn bar for our amazing staff! We appreciate them so much!
Happy 10 year Anniversary to our beloved Ms. Kinsey! Thank you for being such an amazing teacher to all of our babies. We are so glad you are part of our Primrose family and appreciate all that you do!
Happy Friday everyone! Our kids are sliding into the weekend with enthusiasm!
Reminding everyone to bring their pumpkins next week for our Magical Pumpkin Patch! Also if you signed up for Halloween Party items - please be sure to bring those in before Friday the 30th.
Fall is in full swing here at Primrose! What is inside of a pumpkin? Our 3's class answered... "Candy... Guts... Seeds?" Our Preschool Class then opened up their pumpkin to explore the gooey texture inside. They loved learning about the seeds, how pumpkins grow, and how we can utilize the seeds once they dry.
Never passing up an opportunity for crafts, we then used the pumpkin top as a paint stamp to create our own pumpkins!
Such a fun way to add creativity and learning to your Jack O Lantern carving experience!
Kinder had a really "gourd" time at their Pumpkin Patch Field Trip yesterday! Also Parents, don't forget to bring your pumpkins next week for our Magical Pumpkin Patch!
Happiest of Birthdays to Ms. Senter our wonderful Pre-K Assistant Teacher! We are so happy to have you on our team!
Beautiful weather gives us perfect opportunities to enjoy "Thumbs Up" outdoors! During Thumbs Up time the kids will work on their balancing skills, stretching, throwing, or kicking. Together the children play and enjoy games while helping to build healthy bodies, healthy habits and self-confidence.
Our Preschool Class loves to walk the border of our playground to work on their balance.
Today is Katie's Birthday! We all came together and dressed in orange to celebrate. You can continue to help us celebrate by exhibiting her character trait "Cooperation". Katie teaches our children about interacting harmoniously with others. Take time today to listen to those around you, show appreciation, and encourage people to do their best. The Pre-K kids LOVED including her in outside time today!
Happy Birthday to our school! We are celebrating 15 years of service to the Friendswood Community. We are announcing 15 prize winners in the video below... be sure to pick up a cookie at pick-up time!
Our Preschool students are working on letter recognition and making strides towards spelling their names!
Using dab markers they are marking the letters from their name in the tree. This helps with matching skills, dexterity, letter recognition, and they had a blast doing it!

Today is World Kindness Day! We talked about the importance of being kind to our friends. In class. the children made "kindness quilts" and also drew pictures of each other while encouraging our friends' creations using kind words. Our Primrose friend, Molly the cow, teaches us all about being kind using books and music throughout the day. We hope these photos spread a little kindness in your day!

Our friend Molly teaches us to "Be Kind to Yourself and To Others". For World Kindness Day tomorrow we would love to hear about what our students have done to show kindness to others.
Let us know some ways that you practice "kindness" at home! Whether the act is as simple as helping pick up toys, or as big as volunteering your service and time.
“Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.” – Scott Adams

Fall-elujah! We love taking the opportunity to use what is around us for teachable moments!
Fall has given us bountiful opportunities to play and learn all at once. With our friend Benjamin, we discuss the weather and how to appropriately dress for the seasons. The kids have loved playing with the leaves outside and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Our classrooms have brought the fallen leaves into their rooms as a visual aid in discussing weather changes. They have also used the leaves to count, discuss size differences, and draw comparisons.

Don't forget we pass out Percy's Post every Wednesday. From our Infants to our Explorers, Percy's Post is always a big hit! All of our friends LOVE receiving mail - from parents and out of town relatives as well!

It is only Week One of our Bountiful Book Drive and we have already had a large number of books brought in! We are so grateful to have students that want to participate in our caring and giving events! Or maybe they are in "competition mode" striving for a chance to win the surprise party treat?
Whatever the reason, please continue to bring in books throughout the month of February. Help us to teach our children the importance of reading, and of giving to others! We are thankful for your support!

Yesterday, we learned that the one and only Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter. While we were all hoping for an early Spring, our spirits were lifted by the opportunity to teach the students about the science of shadows.
Shadows are all around us; however, the most exciting shadows are the ones we make with our bodies or that we can manipulate. Since we know our kids learn best through play, we decided to get creative! Needless to say, our Preschoolers had a great time!
