Diversity may seem like a complex lesson to tackle with young children. However, in today’s global world it is important to teach children to appreciate different cultures and embrace the various qualities that make each individual unique. To help introduce children to global cultures in a fun and meaningful way, our students celebrated diversity and inclusion this month and ended with a Celebration of Cultures today! 🌎 ❤️💜🧡💛💚💙 🌎

Weekly jobs such as the Weather Reporter, Zoologist, Line Leader, Equipment Manager and Classroom Ambassador are assigned in several of our classrooms to help children build a sense of responsibility for the maintenance and functioning of their classrooms? Learning to take responsibility is an important and valuable life skill that we help foster each day.

This week in Preschool, the children participated in a "Comparing Traits" activity that is a part of our Celebrating Cultures unit. The goal is to create an understanding and appreciation – at an early age – of ways we are all alike and ways we are different and to celebrate what makes each of us unique while encouraging respect and compassion for others. 😍🌎

Oh what fun we had celebrating Katie the Cat's birthday! Our Primrose Pal, Katie is a curious cat who is interested in people’s lives and social skills. She is very polite and fun to be around, helping our Primrose children learn to share and care about each other.

Meet our Family of the Month!
"Dean and Jessie used to call Peachtree Corners home. The return to Atlanta after a 2 year stay in Chicago landed them elsewhere, but Jessie still calls Peachtree Corners her work home. She is an 8th grade science teacher at Pinckneyville Middle School. Dean is a strategy consultant with Boston Consulting Group. Dean loves playing flag football and running. Jessie used to enjoy playing sports, but now she's more of a fan from the couch. They both went to Georgia Tech. Go Jackets!
Erin (26 months) enjoys playing with her baby dolls, tackling her parents, and cleaning, much to her parents satisfaction. Emma (7 months) enjoys chewing on her toes and playing with her big sister.
Fun fact: The Nordhielm name was given to Dean's great great grandfather by the king of Sweden (the name means "helmet of the north"), who started a family tradition of naming all of his children with A-names, including Dean's great grandfather Arthur. He then named his children with B-names. The tradition has continued, hence the E-names for our girls!
We chose Primrose in Peachtree Corners for the welcoming, loving environment. We were torn between daycares close to home or work, but after visiting Mary and her team at Primrose PTC, we knew the search was over. We have been so happy during our year and a half and look forward to many more fun years ahead!"

During his term in office, Percy will help our students understand the importance of Courage; the spirit that enables us to face danger or fear with confidence, resolution, and bravery. It takes courage to stand up for what is right, especially when we do so despite negative pressure from others. Sometimes it is hard to take risks that are for our own good – that takes courage, too.
Our Explorers Club ballot counters were hard at work this afternoon tallying votes from today’s election. Stay tuned for the official results - looks like this will be a close race!

Today our Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten students participated in an election of their own! Our Election Day event is not associated with the current election; however, our very own Percy and Mia are running for the title of presidential Primrose Friend mascot.
Election Day at Primrose isn’t about who wins or loses. It’s about showing the students how fun voting can be and why it’s important to all Americans. The event is a way to help students understand civic involvement and citizenship. Understanding the importance of civic responsibility gives our students the foundation they need to make a difference in the community at all levels!

Our Early Art Master program allows even our youngest students to explore colors, textures, shapes, lines, and variety of art materials and media? This week our Preschool students created their own works of art using only the colors they saw in in “Printed Sheet with Picture” by Paul Klee, paying special attention to the lines and paintbrush movements that he used.

“Child care and Georgia’s Pre-K Program teachers were on the frontlines of COVID-19’s impact on our families and communities from the very beginning, caring for the children of first responders and essential workers,” said Governor Kemp. “We can’t say enough about the outstanding work and flexibility of Georgia’s child care workforce and Georgia’s Pre-K Program, both during a pandemic and every day,” said Commissioner Jacobs. “These supplemental payments are a small, but tangible way, of expressing our thanks to our early care and education teachers. You can’t put a price on the confidence and peace of mind of knowing that your children are being well cared for and educated even in the most challenging times, but we have that confidence here in Georgia.
