Happy Anniversary to Ms. Reyes! She has been with us for 1 year in our Infant Classroom. She comes to school everyday with a smile on her face, and is passionate about her students and their education.
Our Celebrating Cultures activity is part of our first curriculum unit of the year. The goal is to create an understanding and appreciation – at an early age – of ways we are all alike and ways we are different and to celebrate what makes each of us unique while encouraging respect and compassion for others. This year, each of our classrooms picked a country, and decorated the Vestibule. Our students took a flight to each country, got their passports stamped and learned about a new culture! We have visited South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, and England to name a few!
We continue to implement our health & safety protocols, like (touchless drop-offs, ensure all staff wear masks and temperature checks each morning), to help keep our students safe. Our health and safety measures give kindergartners the opportunity to make friends, have fun, and reach key developmental milestones each day.
Today, our Toddler class is practicing their sharing skills by sharing a ball. They gently rolled the ball back and forth to their friends. They even counted the number of times they rolled the ball!
We are looking for caring, compassionate teachers for our Infant Program! PRIMROSE SCHOOL OF SOUTH MINNEAPOLIS AND RICHFIELD Infant Teacher
Our Primrose Friend Benjamin the Bear teaches children to be aware of the weather. Rain, sun or snow, the class discusses what they see outside, then dresses Benjamin in the appropriate clothes for the day.

Our students were so excited to see our first snowfall of the season! How about you? Are you ready for the snow yet?

Today in Preschool Pathways, we talked about different textures that we can see and feel outside. Then we explained how art materials have textures too! We got to put glue on paper, then sprinkle colored salt over it to create a rough textured art piece!
Just like the student Weather Reporters in our classrooms, you can help your little ones be more aware of their surroundings and seasonal patterns by encouraging them to craft an at-home weather station, like this cute windsock. Watch the easy instructions below.
Our Toddler student saw a brid while on the playground, and was doing a great job using her sign language skills to tell her teacher what she saw. Our teachers talk and sign to their students about what is happening around them and what they see and do. They also use specific signs to accompany many of the activities throughout the day. Using words along with signs promotes and strengthens early language development because it gives children a tool to express themselves!

We invited our Richfield Firefighters to our school to educate students on fire safety and emergency preparedness as well as citizenship. To incorporate STEAM learning, we encouraged children to ask the firefighters about the math and science involved in their job. The Firefighters encouraged students to explore the firetruck and learn about it's key features. We then sent our community helpers off by presenting them with a Thank You card made by our Kindergarteners! Thank you Richfield Firefighters Local 1215 for spending your morning with us - our students had a wonderful time!
Happy First Anniversary to our Toddler Teacher Ms. Rowe! We are honored to have you as apart of our Primrose Family. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication!
Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students are preparing to vote for our Primrose President! This year, we are voting between Mia the Mouse, and Percy the Rooster. See what our students said they would do if they were President! Responsibilities of citizenship are obligations to contribute to the common good. Election Day at Primrose is a way to help our students understand the importance of civic involvement and citizenship early on. Children begin to learn these responsibilities at a very early age through activities and projects that help them become aware of their community of friends in their classroom and their neighborhood.
