Our Primrose Friend Benjamin the Bear teaches children to be aware of the weather. Rain, sun or snow, the class discusses what they see outside, then dresses Benjamin in the appropriate clothes for the day.
Thank you to Fireman Lynn for coming to visit us today! We learned all about fire safety. We talked about what a smoke detector was and what to do if the alarm goes off. We learned that we should not open a door before we check the door handle to make sure it is not hot. We also practiced how to STOP! DROP! AND ROLL! You might have some Jr. Firemen at your homes tonight checking for smoke detectors!
We sent fireman Lynn off with some spicy treats that are perfect for all firefighters!❤️🥵🔥

A Bear Cub Grows 🐻
To practice identifying main ideas and supporting details, we read "A Bear Cub Grows"! Ms. Jessica made a two-column chart before we read the book to write down what we think a bear cub can do. Then, after reading, we wrote down the things we found out about what bear cubs can do. It was a bear-y fun reading time!

👬 Friendship👭Stories: Pre-Kindergarten
Using our Literacy Journals, Ms Kelley modeled a writing sample that tells one way A person shows friendship. Using our dry-erase white boards, each student copied the writing sample " My friend is kind" in their journals. After the writing portion was complete, they drew what friendship means to them!👭👫👬
During "Early Art Masters" in Preschool Pathways, we used different scrap papers to create a border where we will later glue a picture of our family! As we created our collage we talked about things we like to do with our family. Example: "I like to go swimming with mom and dad!"
Primrose families, we are starting our door decorating contest! Please vote for the door that you like best! We will announce the winner next Friday. The winning class will receive an Ice cream sundae partry!!🎉🍨

In Preschool Pathways, we read the story "The Napping House" This is a story about a snoring grandmother who sleeps so soundly that she sleeps right through her grandson sleeping in her bed. As the story continues animals start to pile on the bed to nap with them. It is a really funny story that the children love to hear. When we were finished, we gathered in small groups to make our own bedrooms with our very own bed.🥰😴
Hornecker Family...Thank you so much for the Tiff's Treats! We just can't say enough about how much we love your children! We are going to miss them so much! We wish you all the best in your new home and community. Please keep in touch, we would love to see pictures of the boys as they grow!

Nature Walk:
During "Wonder Time 1" in Preschool Pathways, we went on a nature walk and collected leaves, flowers and grass. We will be using what we collected for our fall art project! We got so lucky that the weather was so nice for us to enjoy our walk. 😁 ☀️

Where did we go? 🗺
Today in Kindergarten our journal entry is about a favorite place that we visited. We're learning to write complete sentences that includes who the sentence is about, what they did, and where it took place. We also drew a picture to go with our sentence.
During Small Group Literacy, each student finished summarizing chapters 1,2 and 3 of the book "How Do Animals Adapt to Their Habits?". We learned that Ducks, camels, woodpeckers, and polar bears all have specific habitats that suit their need. We also discussed how some animals have adapted, or changed to stay alive.
Preschool Pathways is having so much fun getting ready for our Valentine parties!! ❤
Today in Early Preschool, we observed our Primrose Experience cards with pictures of morning routines. We discovered that we all have special routines every morning and they can be different from each other. We then used our baby dolls to act out the morning routines that we do every morning at home!👏😍 Great Job!!
Thank you so much Gurrola family for the delicious breakfast burritos this morning! That was so sweet of you and it was a great way to end the week! you're the best! 😋❤
Early Art Masters: Motion with Paul Klee
Today in preschool, we are creating our own works of art using only the colors that we see in “Printed Sheet with Picture” by Paul Klee. We paid special attention to the lines and paintbrush movements that he used.❤👏😍
